Tutti i rappresentanti delle Istituzioni presenti (Istituto Superiore di Sanità, FNOMCEO, Ministero della Salute) hanno ribadito la necessità di investire maggiori risorse economiche e umane a favore della prevenzione primaria, l’unica possibilità di affrontare le emergenze in atto, sanitarie ed ambientali in primis. “La pandemia che ci stiamo lasciando alle spalle dovrebbe aver insegnato qualcosa, soprattutto alla classe politica – dichiarano Roberto Romizi e Ferdinando Laghi, presidente e vicepresidente di ISDE Italia- Come medici da anni avvertiamo i decisori politici che occorre cambiare rotta. Auspichiamo che gli impegni di questa mattina verranno finalmente realizzati. Come sempre non mancherà il nostro contributo in quanto esperti di salute pubblica e di problemi ambientali. Perseguire il profitto a scapito dell’ambiente, a lungo termine creerà dei danni sanitari, sociali ed economici che non potranno essere contenuti se non investiamo davvero sulla prevenzione primaria oltre che sulle cure. Nel rapporto costi-benefici, non solo non è sano per l’ecosistema ma anche per la nostra economia questo è controproducente.”
