“Anche per quest’anno il difficile momento economico e sociale che il Paese sta attraversando, causa Covid-19 e della guerra in atto, impone un clima di particolare sobrietà nelle celebrazioni istituzionali. L’Ugl Matera in ricorrenza al 76° Anniversario della Festa della Repubblica Italiana, dedica un’attenzione speciale al tricolore e ai suoi significati.

La Festa della Repubblica come punto di partenza per preservare ed esaltare concetti e principi basilari per un Paese democratico, repubblicano e unito attraverso la sua carta costituzionale: il verde, bianco e rosso, a tre bande verticali di eguali dimensioni così come definito dall’articolo 12 della Costituzione della Repubblica Italiana del 27 dicembre 1947, che simboleggia, con i suoi colori, i valori fondanti dello Stato e ricorda gli episodi storici che hanno plasmato il nostro Paese”.

E’ quanto sostenuto da Pino Giordano dell’Ugl Matera a margine delle celebrazioni per il quale, “la Festa sia sempre più vicina al materano e alla cittadinanza del meridione d’Italia. Si voglia ricordare ciò che lega il nostro territorio, il popolo Italiano, la nostra bandiera, ch’è come un ‘bignami’ della storia italiana: in essa sono riassunti e condensati due secoli importantissimi che hanno portato alla creazione della Repubblica. Sono tanti i modi per riscoprire le nostre radici e sono tutti validi se ci ricordano l’opportunità e le responsabilità derivanti dall’essere cittadini italiani in special modo nei giovani di oggi: il giorno del 2 giugno – continua Giordano – per l’Ugl deve sempre far comprendere che, solo attraverso le opportune e mirate forme partecipative e di sensibilizzazione, si può apprezzare il senso profondo e l’altissimo valore etico e storico di una ricorrenza non solo celebrativa, ma intesa quale momento di riaffermazione e diffusione degli altissimi valori di cui la nostra Costituzione e’ portatrice. Oggi più che mai, la celebrazione della Festa della Repubblica Italiana ha un chiarissimo significato simbolico: quest’anno la manifestazione assume particolare valore, poiché si svolge dopo due anni di fermo imposto dal Covid, nel pieno della crisi internazionale causata dalla guerra in Ucraina che ci conferma che la libertà non è acquisita una volta per sempre e che, per essa, occorre sapersi impegnare senza riserve. Questo impegno vale ovunque. In Europa come in Italia: per questo oggi la festa della Repubblica assume un significato ancora più profondo e partecipato. Un ringraziamento particolare dall’Ugl và al Prefetto di Matera Sante Copponi per il gradito invito fatto a partecipare all’evento, e dove l’Ugl ha altamente apprezzato il discorso di alto valore istituzionale. Una festa bellissima con l’alzabandiera e la deposizione di una corona di alloro al Monumento dei Caduti che sono stati i momenti più toccanti e importanti della cerimonia. Il Prefetto della Provincia di Matera ha letto il messaggio del Capo dello Stato Sergio Mattarella. Riflessioni da parte del Presidente della Consulta Provinciale Studentesca, Stefano Melodia, del Presidente della Provincia di Matera, Avv. Piero Marrese e del sindaco di Matera Domenico Bennardi. Una bellissima manifestazione a cui l’Ugl Matera è stata presente e dove hanno preso parte le Istituzioni, le Autorità locali, le scuole e tantissimi cittadini, parte del cuore pulsante della nostra Costituzione. Un 2 giugno che – conclude Giordano – l’Ugl Matera ritiene essere caratterizzato dal Tricolore che idealmente abbraccia, partendo da Matera, tutti gli italiani”.
