Dal 20 al 23 luglio i pianisti e cantanti americani selezionati per il programma “Opera Seme” si esibiranno in alcune delle opere più conosciute della tradizione operistica italiana. SI CHIUDE CON QUATTRO SPETTACOLI APERTI AL PUBBLICO AD AREZZO, SUL PALCO 20 CANTANTI AMERICANI SELEZIONATI DAL PROGRAMMA

Chiude con quattro spettacoli, che mettono in scene le più belle opere italiane, la prima edizione di “Opera Seme”, programma di formazione su musica, voce e canto rivolta a cantanti e pianisti selezionati da undici università americane. Il programma è nato da un’idea di Spazio Seme, centro artistico di Arezzo con la collaborazione di Friends University (Kansas) e il partenariato di Chapman University (California).

“Opera Seme” è in corso di svolgimento ad Arezzo dal 26 giugno: per quasi un mese i musicisti vivono un’esperienza residenziale intensiva in Italia, attraverso lo studio della lingua e una “full immersion” nella cultura italiana, seguendo un programma di coaching, masterclass, workshop su temi attinenti il canto, l’opera, la messa in scena.

Gli insegnanti sono professionisti italiani e americani: Matthew Schloneger (Friends University), Jen Stephenson (Baylor University), J. Bradley Baker (Tarleton State University), Gianni Bruschi (Spazio Seme) e Eva Mei, raffinato soprano, docente all’Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, esecutrice del belcanto italiano, con all’attivo una lunga carriera operistica e cameristica ed esibizioni nei principali teatri europei e mondiali, che ha tenuto una masterclass di canto ai partecipanti e coaching singoli per ogni cantante. Le masterclass sono state tenute anche da: Claire Singher (Opernhaus Zurigo), Alison Trainer (Università Furman), Adriana Zabala (Università di Yale).

Ultimo step del percorso formativo è la rappresentazione di alcune opere, presentate alla città di Arezzo.

Mercoledì 20 luglio, ore 21.15 Spazio Seme (via del Pantano, 36 – ingresso gratuito) accoglie “Scene di opera”, i partecipanti di “Opera Seme” si esibiranno in alcune scene tratte da celebri opere di W. A. Mozart come “Le Nozze di Figaro”, “Cosi fan tutte”, “Falstaff”, “La Clemenza di Tito” e canzoni jazz con il meglio dei brani americani di Broadway accompagnati al pianoforte dai docenti J. Bradley Baker (Tarleton State University) e Lauren Koszyk (Friends University) con la direzione delle scene di Claire Singher (Opernhaus Zürich), Matthew Schloneger (Friends University) e Gianni Bruschi (Spazio Seme).

Giovedì 21 e venerdì 22 luglio, ore 20.30 (ingresso gratuito) al chiostro del Seminario Diocesano di Arezzo va in scena l’opera “La finta giardiniera” di W. A. Mozart, una delle prime composizioni del grande musicista, scritta a 17 anni, non certo la sua più celebre, ma senza dubbio un capolavoro dal punto di vista musicale. Ad accompagnare i musicisti Lauren Koszyk al pianoforte, Rebecca Schloneger e Lily Schloneger al violino assieme agli archi (viola, violoncello e violeno) di OIDA Orchestra instabile di Arezzo per la regia di Jen Stephenson (Baylor University).

Il programma giunge a conclusione sabato 23 luglio, alle ore 23, nella Chiesa della Badia (ingresso gratuito) di Arezzo con l’esecuzione di “Mese Mariano” di Umberto Giordano, un’opera beve basata su un dramma molto popolare, la storia di una donna che visita un orfanotrofio per vedere il proprio figlio, oppressa dal senso di colpa per averlo abbandonato, ma scopre che il bambino è morto la sera prima. A dirigere i cantanti è Jen Stephenson (Baylor University).

I 20 cantanti che partecipano ad Opera Seme e che si esibiranno nelle 4 date di Arezzo sono tra i 22 e i 26 anni e sono stati selezionati da: Friends University (lead university), Chapman University (official partner university), Augustana University, Baylor University, Eastern Illinois University, South Dakota State University, Tarleton State University, University of Kentucky, University of Michigan, University of Washington and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

“Opera Seme” è realizzato anche grazie alla collaborazione di Fondazione Guido d’Arezzo, Oida Orchestra instabile di Arezzo, CAMU, ABCentre e Arezzo Sport College.
