CITTA’ DI CASTELLO – la Fondazione Villa Montesca promuove un incontro in Comune con i più importanti enti montessoriani del mondo” Una giornata speciale quella che si è svolta Martedì 13 settembre tra Villa Montesca e la sede del Comune di Città di Castello,
interamente dedicata alla pedagogista di Chiaravalle e promossa dalla Fondazione Hallgarten-Franchetti Centro Studi Villa Montesca in collaborazione con la Scuola dell’Infanzia Santa Croce di Perugia, l’Università per Stranieri di Perugia, la Tela Umbra e la Fondazione eLand. MLe delegazioni dell’American Montessori Society composte da esperti montessoriani insieme al Direttore Munir Shivji e dell’Association Montessori Internationale insieme al Presidente uscente Philip O’Brien, al nuovo Presidente Alain Tschudin e alla Direttrice Lynne Lawrence sono state ricevute in Comune presso la Sala Consiliare per sviluppare una riflessione su future prospettive di collaborazione per promuovere la tradizione e l’esperienza montessoriana umbra nel mondo. All’incontro hanno partecipato oltre al presidente della Fondazione Villa Montesca Angelo Capecci, che ha introdotto e moderato l’incontro, il Sindaco di Città di Castello Luca Secondi (che ha sottolineato l’importanza di questo evento che si inserisce nella programmazione culturale e formativa della Fondazione Villa Montesca) insieme all’Assessore alla Cultura Michela Botteghi, il Rettore dell’Università per Stranieri Valerio De Cesaris, la Responsabile del Servizio Istruzione della Regione Umbria Valentina Bendini, il Presidente uscente della Tela Umbra Pasquale La Gala e il Presidente della Fondazione eLand Matteo Ferroni.
Nella mattinata, nel corso di una proficua visita presso la sede della Fondazione, il Direttore Fabrizio Boldrini insieme a Maria Rita Bracchini Responsabile Area Europa di Villa Montesca, hanno illustrato i progetti sviluppati in ambito sociale ed educativo ed hanno presentato agli ospiti la tradizione storica dei Baroni Franchetti guidandoli in un tour dei luoghi vissuti da Alice e Leopoldo insieme a Maria Montessori all’inizio del secolo scorso.
“Venire a Città di Castello nei luoghi di Maria Montessori e Alice Hallgarten è stata un’esperienza spirituale, è stato un modo per comprendere le radici del percorso montessoriano e riportarle negli Stati Uniti. La nostra organizzazione gestisce più di 500 scuole montessoriane in tutti gli Stati Uniti e più di 300 corsi di formazione per educatori, il nostro obiettivo principale non è quello di insegnare il metodo solo nelle scuole montessoriane dedicate ma anche quelle in pubbliche, e conoscere la realtà italiana potrebbe dare un nuovo impulso visto che sono state già sviluppate esperienze di questo tipo. Abbiamo tutta l’intenzione di creare future partnership e nuove collaborazioni, sicuramente ci aspetta un futuro ricco di prospettive da valutare insieme alla Fondazione anche per ridare vita a Villa Montesca”. Ha commentato Munir Shivji Direttore dell’American Montessori Society.
“È molto importante conoscere Città di Castello e la storia dei Baroni Franchetti e Maria Montessori a Villa Montesca, non solo perché qui troviamo le tracce dell’inizio di tutto, ma soprattutto perché c’è un partner che può garantire l’ approccio del famoso metodo che è molto chiaro: i bambini sono i proprietari del loro sapere , ma anche dare loro la possibilità di vivere meglio in questo mondo è importantissimo e fondamentale. In questa regione, nell’operato della Fondazione Villa Montesca troviamo prospettive di una educazione alla pace, inclusiva che coinvolge il mondo degli adulti ma soprattutto le persone svantaggiate”. Ha concluso Lynne Lawrence Direttrice Association Montessori Internationale.
Il presidente Capecci alla fine della giornata ha così commentato: “Siamo molto soddisfatti di questa giornata anche perché crediamo nell’importanza di trovare nuove sinergie per poter sviluppare collaborazioni future e soprattutto per continuare a promuovere il patrimonio culturale e l’eredità scientifica dei Baroni Franchetti nel settore delle scienze dell’educazione e anche per valorizzare sotto il profilo turistico il patrimonio ambientale e storico di Città di Castello, come la Villa, il parco e la Tela Umbra”.
