SANSEPOLCRO – Straordinaria partecipazione di pubblico per la riapertura della Casa di Piero della Francesca. Nel giorno dedicato alle celebrazioni per la ricorrenza della morte del grande artista, l’antica dimora del Maestro del Rinascimento ha ripreso vita, aprendo nuovamente le sue porte.
A fare gli onori di casa la presidente della “Fondazione Piero della Francesca”, la dottoressa Francesca Chieli, il sindaco di Sansepolcro Fabrizio Innocenti accompagnato dai suoi colleghi amministratori, e l’assessore Alberto Merelli in rappresentanza del Comune di Arezzo. Convenute per l’occasione le autorità civili e militari, studiosi ed esponenti del mondo culturale e artistico del territorio. E, come detto, tantissima gente che finalmente ha potuto fruire nuovamente di una struttura rimasta troppo a lungo chiusa. “E’ con grande piacere” ha detto il sindaco Fabrizio Innocenti nel suo indirizzo di saluto “che oggi riapriamo al pubblico la Casa di Piero. L’enorme partecipazione ci fa comprendere quanto questa iniziativa fosse auspicata al Borgo, ed ora finalmente realizzata. Anche grazie alla volontà e alla passione della neo-presidente della Fondazione, primo passo di qualità per ridare slancio a questa istituzione”. “Ringrazio tutti i convenuti” ha commentato la dottoressa Francesca Chieli “per la loro presenza e per l’affetto che con essa ci stanno testimoniando. La Casa ha la sua antica vocazione di centro studi e documentaristico e continuerà a mantenerla. Ma il mio obiettivo sin dall’insediamento è quello di restituirla a Sansepolcro e ai visitatori, per farne una sorta di museo-testimonianza sulla vita e l’opera di Piero. Nei prossimi giorni ci saranno visite guidate poi, dal 22 ottobre, sarà aperta a tutti coloro che vorranno visitarla”. E’ stata la stessa dottoressa Chieli a condurre poi i visitatori nel percorso interno, che in questa prima fase ha riguardato soprattutto la grande sala che custodisce antichi manoscritti, in parte inediti, sulla presenza dell’artista al Borgo e al piano superiore le teche che contengono i capolavori di arte orafa che impreziosirono la mostra “I gioielli di Piero”.
