E’ stato presentato ufficialmente a San Giustino il restauro delle “Stufette” della Torre Maestra del Castello Bufalini con il contributo della Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Città di Castello. L’incontro inaugurale è stato aperto dall’introduzione della direttrice del Castello Veruska Picchiarelli che ha sottolineato come la valorizzazione del maniero altotiberino sia ormai inserito tra le priorità della Soprintendenza perugina, volontà confermata pure dalla circostanza odierna.
E’ stata quindi la volta del Presidente della Fondazione CariCast avv.Fabio Nisi che ha evidenziato il significato del supporto assicurato nell’occasione dall’ente da lui guidato sia perché rientra nei compiti statutari di sostegno alle attività di promozione culturale del territorio sia per i legami storici che uniscono Palazzo Vitelli a S.Egidio con il Castello Bufalini entrambi caratterizzati dall’opera pittorica di Cristofano Gherardi. I restauratori Paolo Pettinari e Alessandro Fonti hanno poi illustrato le tecniche di recupero attuate per restituire armonia formale e cromatica agli affreschi del Doceno nei piccoli ambienti all’epoca adibiti a stanza da bagno dei Marchesi Bufalini, non a caso attigui alla Camera da letto in particolare e in generale all‘ala più riservata dell’intero castello; è stato anche rimarcato l’uso decorativo della Doratura attuato da Gheradi, autentica peculiarità di queste opere rispetto alle altre presenti nella storica struttura.Alessandra Pannacci ha quindi posto l’accento sul significato dell’iconografia degli affreschi, incentrata sui molteplici e multiformi amori di Giove, a conferma della loro esplicita funzione introduttiva ai piaceri erotici del talamo nuziale. La giornata si è chiusa con la visita guidata ai restauri e con l’annuncio da parte della dott.ssa Picchiarelli di ulteriori cantieri già programmati per il Castello che appena un mese fa ha vissuto il completamento del recupero dell’anticamera di Filippo I realizzata a inizio Settecento nella stessa Torre Maestra in occasione del matrimonio di lui con la marchesa di Sorbello.Inoltre sono attese nuove risorse (anche più personale per consentire una maggiore turnazione di custodia))per consentire una più funzionale apertura al pubblico del monumento, autentico trait-d’union ideale tra le attrattive turistiche di Sansepolcro e quelle di Città di Castello.
