All’interno, infatti, sorge il monumento che ricorda il sacrificio dei caduti della Prima Guerra Mondiale.
Ora, grazie ad un finanziamento del Gal aretino, che ha coperto l’80% della spesa e con il restante 20% coperto da fondi dell’Amministrazione comunale, per un intervento complessivo di 50 mila euro, il parco delle Rimembranze a Lucignano torna fruibile appieno. Fondamentale, in quanto sorge in un’area di grande movimento e passeggio, una sorta di biglietto da visita e d’accesso a ridosso delle mura di uno dei “Borghi più belli d’Italia”. Ieri mattina il taglio del nastro dell’intervento, alla presenza del sindaco di Lucignano Roberta Casini, del vice sindaco e assessore con delega ai lavori pubblici Juri Sicuranza e dell’Arch. Sara Valentini, responsabile del progetto. “Ci siamo posti un duplice obiettivo – ha dichiarato Valentini – da un lato il recupero del parco, finora nascosto, inserendo una piazza e ridisegnando un percorso che porta in linea diretta al parcheggio, dando una nuova conformazione alla piazza stessa, riportando l’impianto di quella che è la conformazione del nostro centro storico. L’altro obiettivo era di andare a rendere maggiormente fruibile l’area parcheggio, attraverso un marciapiede per la sicurezza dei pedoni e ridisegnando l’impianto del parco stesso“. Roberta Casini, sindaco di Lucignano: “Oggi abbiamo inaugurato questo parco che per noi è un luogo della memoria al quale teniamo in maniera particolare. Lo restituiamo, nella sua piena fruibilità, a cittadini e turisti, con un notevole miglioramento della viabilità e dell’area parcheggio. Un grazie speciale all’architetto Valentini, al vice sindaco Sicuranza e all’ufficio tecnico coordinato da Doriano Graziani. L’opera, con sostegno del Gal, dimostra come i finanziamenti europei, se ben gestiti dalle Regioni e dal Gal, arrivano nei territori e danno risposte concrete ai cittadini“. Juri Sicuranza evidenzia la valenza sociale e storica del luogo, visto che “ogni pianta del parco ricorda un caduto della Prima Guerra Mondiale“. Raggiunto questo obiettivo, l’amministrazione non si ferma: “Ora guardiamo anche dall’altra parte della strada – annuncia Sicuranza – con la riqualificazione dell’altro parco. Il primo passso era trovare la risorsa idrica, che convoglieremo in quella zona per rendere l’area sempre verde e fruibile“.
