Il diritto ad una miglior qualità della vita in ogni sua fase. L’11 novembre si celebra la giornata nazionale dedicata alle cure palliative, un’occasione importante per ricordare come il nostro sistema sanitario nazionale con la legge 38/2010 dia diritto alle cure e alla terapia del dolore sia ai malati in fase terminale sia a quelli affetti da patologie croniche. Le cure palliative sono costituite da interventi diagnostici, terapeutici e assistenziali organizzati negli ambulatori ospedalieri, al domicilio del paziente o nelle strutture ospedaliere residenziali, gli Hospice, nel rispetto della dignità e dell’integrità della persona.
Sono finalizzate al controllo dei sintomi e al recupero e alla difesa della migliore qualità di vita possibile e costituite da una rete locale che integra i servizi distrettuali e ospedalieri, sanitari e sociali, in collaborazione con la rete di solidarietà sociale presente sul territorio. Il funzionamento e coordinamento della Rete è assicurato dalle Unità Funzionali di Cure Palliative per garantire al paziente uniformità nell’accoglienza della domanda, nella valutazione dei bisogni e nell’avvio del percorso di cura.
Il Convegno sulle Cure Palliative in Valdichiana Aretina , organizzato dal CALCIT VALDICHIANA in collaborazione con la Direzione di Zona Distretto della Valdichiana Aretina diretta dalla dr.ssa Manuela Giotti e con il patrocinio dei Comuni della Zona, rappresenta un’importante occasione per la Comunità locale per promuovere e divulgare il significato reale della cultura del sollievo e della sofferenza, del valore della qualità della vita e dell’accesso alle cure per i pazienti affetti da malattie inguaribili evolutive. Si svolgerà venerdì 11 alle ore 15 presso la Sala Consiliare del Comune di Cortona ed è aperto alla cittadinanza.
“Rafforzare l’importanza della identificazione precoce dei bisogni in questi pazienti e nelle loro famiglie, è un segno di grande civiltà “ afferma il Direttore di Zona distretto Emanuela Giotti. ” E’ solo attraverso la costruzione di reti di solidale reciprocità, di cooperazione e di partecipazione attiva che si possono avvicinare questi valori alla vita reale di chi soffre, ai quali l’accesso alle cure palliative, il diritto alla qualità della vita devono essere tutelati ancor di più soprattutto nel “fine vita”. Siamo soddisfatti del lavoro fatto in questi mesi. La strada da percorrere è lunga ma è ben tracciata per garantire servizi qualificati e la continuità delle cure in una organizzazione sempre più centrata e orientata ai bisogni del paziente e della sua famiglia, capace di guidarli nella complessità dei servizi, assicurando loro professionisti formati per competenze e sensibilità umana, qualità quest’ultima che deve essere profusa da chi esercita questa particolare professione sanitaria”.
