Il 4 novembre scorso è uscito lo splendido album JONI su Etichetta Incipit Records distribuzione Egea, raffinato tributo di Rossana Casale alla cantautrice Joni Mitchell. 14 tracce per un’esperienza intensa e poetica di 70 minuti attraverso alcune delle canzoni più importanti della cantautrice americana con un inedito In and Out of Lines omaggio della Casale alla stessa Mitchell.
E sarà il prestigioso Padova Jazz Festival giunto quest’anno alla sua ventiquattresima edizione, ad ospitare la prima data del tour giovedì 17 novembre al Teatro Verdi (secondo set). Sarà un concerto guidato dal jazz e dal contatto col pubblico. Il mio desiderio è di continuare il discorso iniziato con l’album – dichiara Rossana Casale– gli accordi aperti della Mitchell ci daranno occasioni per nuove dinamiche. Il jazz si reinventa tutte le sere e l’unione forte che negli anni si è formata tra me e i musicisti creerà sul palco inattesi cerchi di energia, di arpeggi, suoni forte-piano, di emozioni tradotte in ritmo acceso o in silenzi e tutto questo lo faremo in ascolto con la platea. Le parole della Mitchell -aggiunge- sono al centro di questo lavoro, tutti noi le sentiamo molto. Seguiremo lei, rispetteremo le sue richieste ma ci sarà spazio per sovrapporre al suo anche il nostro racconto. Questa tournée avrà una vita di due anni -conclude- abbiamo tempo per vedere il concerto trasformarsi e volare alto. Accompagnata da questi grandi musicisti, sarà sicuramente così ”. La prima parte del tour toccherà luoghi importanti come l’Auditorium Puccini di Torre del Lago all’interno del mese pucciniano e approderà il 23 dicembre alla prestigiosa Casa del Jazz di Roma.
