Il vescovo Paolucci Bedini darà il via alla presenza del sindaco Secondi e dell’assessore allo Sport Carletti. In vasca le vecchie glorie, a partire da Claudia Masciarri e Sandro Belletti, ma anche Marco Fratini, che nuoterà per tutte le 24 ore dell’evento
Solidarietà a colpi di bracciate in acqua per un giorno intero alla piscina comunale di Città di Castello, che dalle ore 12.00 di sabato 7 alle ore 12.00 di domenica 8 gennaio ospiterà l’atteso ritorno della “24 ore” di nuoto, la maratona sportiva promossa dai Nuotatori Tifernati Polisport e dal Cnat’99, con il patrocinio del Comune e il supporto organizzativo di Polisport e Sogepu, che sta richiamando appassionati da tutto l’Altotevere e l’Umbria. Un gesto d’amore per il prossimo e un tuffo è tutto ciò che i promotori della manifestazione chiederanno a chi scenderà in acqua per un’impresa sportiva fuori dal comune, pensata e organizzata in nome della beneficenza. La partecipazione all’evento sarà completamente gratuita e sarà aperta a chiunque sia in grado di nuotare almeno 50 metri (due vasche).Chi vorrà, potrà approfittare per lasciare all’ingresso nell’impianto una donazione in denaro che quest’anno sosterrà l’impegno quotidiano nei confronti delle persone bisognose assicurato dalla Caritas di Città di Castello. I proventi delle offerte saranno infatti utilizzati per l’acquisto di generi alimentari e rappresenteranno un gesto concreto finalizzato ad aiutare le persone in difficoltà che anche a Città di Castello in numero sempre maggiore si mettono in fila per un pasto caldo. “Un nobile fine in nome del quale rivolgiamo l’invito a partecipare alla manifestazione agli sportivi di tutte le età che amano nuotare e credono nell’energia positiva dello sport, che a Città di Castello si è sempre caratterizzato per un’impronta sociale nella quale l’amministrazione comunale investe costantemente e che trova in ogni iniziativa di solidarietà la sua naturale espressione”, sottolinea l’assessore allo Sport Riccardo Carletti, che insieme al sindaco Luca Secondi saluterà gli sportivi che si daranno appuntamento alla piscina comunale di via Engels per la partenza della “24 ore” di nuoto. A dare il via al primo tuffo sarà il vescovo di Città di Castello monsignor Luciano Paolucci Bedini, che ha garantito la propria presenza insieme al direttore della Caritas Gaetano Zucchini in segno di riconoscenza per i propositi benefici della manifestazione. Per sottolineare il traguardo dei 40 anni dall’inaugurazione tagliato dalla piscina comunale nel 2022, i primi a salire sui blocchi di partenza saranno le vecchie glorie del nuoto tifernate.
