Tre nuovi occhi elettronici si apriranno su piazza dell’Incontro a garanzia della sicurezza urbana e a tutela del patrimonio pubblico. Nella seduta di ieri la giunta comunale ha deliberato l’estensione della rete di videosorveglianza cittadina, con l’installazione nell’area situata tra la residenza municipale di piazza Gabriotti e l’ex cinema Vittoria di tre nuove telecamere che monitoreranno giorno e notte uno dei luoghi pubblici sensibili del centro storico, sia per la collocazione adiacente alle piazze principali, sia per il consistente passaggio di persone che registra, soprattutto nel periodo estivo, in concomitanza con lo svolgimento degli eventi serali. Salirà così a 61 il totale dei dispositivi di videosorveglianza attivi nel cuore della città, che fanno parte del sistema integrato di sicurezza urbana sul quale a partire dal 2017 sono stati investiti oltre 180 mila euro, con il cofinanziamento da parte del Comune dei contributi regionali e nazionali ottenuti. “La Smart-City della sicurezza che abbiamo costruito sviluppando la rete della videosorveglianza comunale rappresenta una risposta efficace alla necessità di prevenire e contrastare i fenomeni di illegalità, di tutelare il patrimonio pubblico e di garantire maggiore sicurezza e tranquillità ai cittadini”, sottolineano l’assessore all’Innovazione Tecnologica e alla Polizia Locale Rodolfo Braccalenti e l’assessore ai Lavori Pubblici Riccardo Carletti, rimarcando che “le telecamere installate nei luoghi principali del centro storico hanno dimostrato in diverse situazioni la propria efficacia, fornendo un utile supporto all’attività di indagine delle forze dell’ordine ed esercitando una incisiva azione di dissuasione nei confronti dei malintenzionati e dei vandali”. Nel 2022 sono state 30 le richieste di accesso alle immagini registrate dal sistema comunale di videosorveglianza da parte delle forze dell’ordine, che hanno trovato un valido supporto all’attività investigativa su episodi criminosi e danneggiamenti. Le tre nuove telecamere di piazza dell’Incontro andranno a completare il progetto attivato a partire dal 2017 e saranno installate nell’ambito dell’ultima richiesta di finanziamento approvata dalla giunta comunale a fine 2021, riguardante la legge 48/2017 sui patti per l’attuazione della sicurezza urbana e l’installazione di sistemi di videosorveglianza.
