In oltre sessanta anni di attività ha visionato e riparato una media di tremila orologi ogni anno da quelli a ricarica manuale fino al quarzo con le pile. Tradotto in cifre e statistiche quasi 200.00mila interventi – Ed ancora oggi presta servizio nel tempo libero – La consegna di una targa dal sindaco Luca Secondi per celebrare un personaggio simbolo. Un secolo di vita scandito dalle “lancette”: oltre sessanta anni a visionare e riparare orologi, una media di 3.000 ogni anno di ogni marca e modello da quelli a ricarica manuale fino al quarzo con le pile. Tradotto in cifre e statistiche quasi 200.00mila interventi, un vero e proprio primato che la dice lunga sul personaggio ancora in attività. Storia da guinness davvero emblematica quella di Giovanni Talamelli, che oggi compie cento anni. Da tutti conosciuto come “ Nanni”, è lo storico maestro orologiaio e orefice di Città di Castello per eccellenza che ha segnato dal dopoguerra ad oggi il cambiamento di costumi e tradizioni di tante persone. Inconfondibile l’immagine all’interno del suo negozio nel centralissimo corso Cavour con il grembiule nero d’ordinanza dietro al banco di lavoro con l’immancabile “monocolo” da orologiaio ben calzato nell’occhio intento a mettere a fuoco gli ingranaggi più piccoli degli articoli da esaminare e riparare. Non c’è famiglia che almeno una volta nella vita in occasioni simbolo come battesimi, comunioni, cresime, matrimoni e ricorrenze varie non abbia fatto tappa nel suo negozio anche per acquistare o riparare catenine, orologi, fedi nuziali, anelli od altri monili in oro e argento che hanno “marchiato” la loro esistenza. Cento anni di vita a dir poco rocambolesca caratterizzata anche da eventi drammatici che fortunatamente è riuscito a superare. Giovanni Talamelli, è nato il 27 Febbraio 1923 ad Umbertide. Ha trascorso la sua infanzia a Gubbio sino al 1939, quando si è trasferito a Genova per frequentare la scuola Ansaldo. La guerra poi ha cambiato la sua vita per sempre. Infatti nel 1943 è stato catturato dai nazisti e deportato in un campo di lavoro a Dresda. “Nanni” ricorda ancora oggi con commozione e lucidità le tribolate giornate della prigionia, quando per andare dagli alloggi del campo alla fabbrica, era sempre scortato da un cane lupo addestrato per attaccarlo, se avesse tentato la fuga. La fame, il sacrificio e le privazioni hanno fortificato il suo carattere, rendendolo testimone e protagonista di numerosi fatti storici, come il bombardamento di Brema. E’ riuscito a tornare a Città di Castello solo nel 1945 dove ha iniziato la sua vita familiare e lavorativa: il matrimonio con Nerina e poi gli amati figli, Rita e Franco ed il nipote Luca Rubechi. Alle dipendenze di Severo Severi ha imparato l’arte orafa e orologiaia, rilevando poi l’azienda e dando vita alla storica “gioielleria” di oggi. Da subito ha dimostrato una grande passione per il funzionamento degli orologi: dai movimenti meccanici agli automatici sino ai moderni quarzi e “Swatch” che lo hanno portato a lavorare nelle più prestigiose fabbriche elvetiche per mesi. Nonostante il progresso, “Nanni”, ha sempre paragonato l’orologio all’amore: “la cura e l’attenzione devono essere quotidiani, come la carica di un orologio, e non annuali come una pila.” I movimenti e gli ingranaggi hanno scandito tutta la sua vita, sia i momenti più difficili che i grandi successi, ed ancora oggi, dopo 100 anni, ama trascorre i suoi pomeriggi ad insegnare ai nipoti i segreti del tempo. Questa mattina il sindaco, Luca Secondi, proprio all’interno dello storico negozio gli ha consegnato una targa con i simboli del comune: “l’amministrazione comunale al centenario Giovanni Talamelli, per il traguardo di vita raggiunto e per l’attività di maestro orologiaio simbolo della città”, questa la motivazione impressa sulla targa che il maestro “Nanni” ha gradito nel riceverla assieme ai familiari, amici, affezionati clienti e al presidente del consiglio comunale, Luciano Bacchetta. “La vita del maestro Giovanni Talamelli ed i suoi cento anni divisi fra famiglia e tanto lavoro nel centro storico della città, rappresentano un simbolo per la comunità locale e per le giovani generazioni”, hanno concluso sindaco Secondi e presidente del consiglio comunale Bacchetta.
