Il ministro dell’Agricoltura cita studio che non esiste e inventa cose per avvalorare anti-scienza e oscurantismo Ieri in sede di interrogazione parlamentare di un deputato del suo stesso gruppo, on. Marco Cerreto (1) al ministro Francesco Lollobrigida viene chiesto se in Italia, visto il provvedimento approvato dal Governo, sia vietata anche l’importazione del cibo sintetico, cosi’, per sfatare ancora qualche dubbio.
Il ministro ribadisce che il disegno di legge (2) intende vietare tutto: produzione, importazione e commercializzazione del cibo sintetico perche’ potrebbe far male alla salute dei cittadini, e che sicuramente colpirebbbe il comparto degli allevatori italiani (che producono neppure meta’ della carne consumata in Italia e che quindi hanno ancora una fetta enorme di mercato da coprire, ma che evidentemente si preoccupano, e fanno preoccupare il ministro, di una concorrenza inesistente). Per avvalorare queste tesi porta la voce della scienza e testualmente dice “Il protocollo di produzione è descritto in uno studio effettuato dalla dottoressa Maria Caramelli, già direttore dell’Istituto zooprofilattico sperimentale del Piemonte, Liguria e Valle d’Aosta” …”È previsto il prelievo di cellule muscolari e di fibroblasti da animale vivo; per farle crescere, le si alimenta con siero fetale bovino, ormoni e chelanti. Il siero fetale di vitello, indispensabile per la produzione industriale di questo protocollo, viene estratto con metodo certamente non indolore per l’animale…” (3) e – infine ci mette anche il carico da novanta- “Si aggiungono aminoacidi, acidi, grassi, zuccheri, tripsina di maiale, antibiotici e antimicotici per prevenire contaminazioni batteriche e fungine.”Sono rimasta colpita, perche’ tra i vantaggi della carne coltivata in laboratorio rispetto a quella ottenuta dalla macellazione di animali allevati e imbottiti di antibiotici e’ proprio questo aspetto della mancanza di antibiotici, e allora ho ritrovato in rete un articolo (4) e non uno studio, in cui la dottoressa Caramelli descrive il processo autorizzato dalla Food & Drug Administration degli Stati Uniti presentato dall’azienda Upside Food. Lo abbiamo anche noi cercato e trovato sul sito FDA (5): le cellule fetali di cui il ministro si preoccupa non compaiono mai nel protocollo autorizzato dalla FDA, mentre gli antibiotici compaiono proprio per essere smentiti. (“UPSIDE also states that no antibiotics or antifungal agents are used during proliferation or differentiation phases of cell culture.”)
