ITALIA – Una tomba intatta del VI secolo a.C. è stata scoperta nella NecropoliEtrusca del Casale dell’Osteria a Vulci nel Lazio. La tomba di 2.500 anni è riccamente arredata con ceramiche con del cibo rimasto su un braciere. Gli archeologi della Fondazione Vulci hanno fatto la scoperta all’inizio di questo mese quando lo scavo ha rivelato due lastre di tufo larghe 61 cm (due piedi) e del peso di 40 chili (88 libbre) davanti all’ingresso della tomba
Hanno trovato una tomba a camera scavata nella roccia e circa 30 vasi, per lo più ceramica di bucchero coppe, unguentaria di vetro e anfore, tutti intatti e in condizioni impeccabili.Sul lato destro della camera verso l’ingresso si trova un braciere in bronzo contenente ancora le braci e gli spiedi con la carne cotta per l’ultimo pasto. I resti cinerari del proprietario della tomba sono stati collocati all’interno di un’olla, un vaso tozzo e arrotondato comunemente usato dagli Etruschi come contenitore per la sepoltura dei resti cremati. Si ritiene fosse la tomba di una donna, in base alla mancanza di armi e alla presenza di un fuso a spirale. Doveva essere una persona molto ricca per permettersi una tomba così arredata.Vulci era una prospera città-stato etrusca a 50 miglia da Roma Fu il luogo di nascita del leggendario sesto re di Roma, Servio Tullio (r. 578-535 aC) e un importante centro di arti ceramiche, estrazione di metalli e artigianato dei metalli. Era anche un centro commerciale, che forniva ceramiche greche, Balsami e unguenti dall’est. Fu sconfitta da Roma nel 280 a.C.. e mai più ricostruita, divenendo oggetto dei saccheggi dei tombaroli per secoli. Luciano Bonaparte fratello di Napoleone dopo aver depredato Vulci dei suoi vasi etruschi più belli ne fece distruggere ben 1500 per rendere più rara la sua collezione oggi al Louvre di Parigi. La scoperta di una tomba intatta con il suo contenuto completo e non danneggiato è quindi incredibilmente rara.
