Oltre 600 bambini e bambine si sono dati appuntamento lo scorso fine settimana a Città di Castello per partecipare al XIII Trofeo di Minirugby, divenuto ormai un appuntamento tradizionale nel panorama rugbistico italiano. Il tempo incerto non ha scoraggiato atleti, allenatori e accompagnatori che hanno gioiosamente invaso l’impianto sportivo del Rugby Città di Castello che si era perfettamente attrezzato ad accogliere gli sportivi e le loro famiglie provenienti dall’Umbria, Toscana, Lazio e Campania.
La giornata di sport e buona cucina si è conclusa con le premiazioni illuminate dal sole e dai sorrisi di tutti i partecipanti. 48 squadre suddivise tra le categorie under 7, under 9, under 11 e under 13 di 19 società sportive si sono affrontate sul campo in una festa di sport e divertimento resa possibile da oltre 70 volontari per lo più atleti, genitori e amici del Città di Castello Rugby. Alla cerimonia di chiusura ha preso parte anche il consigliere del Comune di Città di Castello Ugo Tanzi, che insieme alla dirigenza del Città di Castello Rugby si è congratulato con tutti i partecipanti e ha consegnato i Trofei per le rispettive categorie. I tornei sono stati vinti dalle squadre dello Scandicci nelle categorie under 7 e 9 e dal Sesto Rugby nelle categorie under 11 e 13. Gli atleti tifernati hanno conquistato un eccellente secondo posto nella categoria Under 11 allenata da Kolya Castiglia e da Carlo Pisaniello ed è stato raggiunto anche un buon quarto posto nella categoria Under 9 allenata da Marco Fiorucci. Al di là dei risultati, quello che rimane è la grande soddisfazione per un evento che ha saputo esprimere appieno i valori del rugby quali la lealtà, la solidarietà, lo spirito sportivo e il gioco di squadra, dentro e fuori dal campo.
