La torre civica fasciata di tricolore: una maxi-bandiera di trenta metri giù dal monumento simbolo della città per celebrare il 2 giugno, Festa della Repubblica. Musica e fuochi d’artificio in piazza Gabriotti, faranno da cornice alle evoluzioni dei Vigili del Fuoco da venti anni protagonisti di una celebrazione unica nel suo genere fra le poche in Italia. Saranno infatti di nuovo gli uomini del Distaccamento dei Vigili del fuoco di Città di Castello a garantire anche quest’anno l’emozionante omaggio che Città di Castello tributa alla Repubblica Italiana, nel giorno del 77° anniversario della sua istituzione, attraverso il plebiscito del 2 giugno 1946, in cui gli italiani scelsero per sé e per il loro paese un regime democratico. In Piazza Gabriotti il tricolore tornerà a vestire la torre civica con gli otto professionisti delle tecniche SAF del distaccamento dei Vigili del Fuoco tifernati (grazie al Comandante Provinciale, Antonio Albanese, all’ingegner, Andrea Perri e al referente del Distaccamento di Città di Castello, Gian Paolo Ciuchi) che si caleranno dalla cima della torre, srotolando il drappo di trenta metri lungo la facciata principale e sotto gli occhi dei tanti cittadini che ogni 2 giugno rispondono all’appello di Comune e Rotary Club. L’appuntamento è alle ore 21.30 quando la “Filarmonica G. Puccini”, diretta dal maestro, Nolito Bambini ed il presidente, Fabio Arcaleni, in testa, partirà da Piazza Andrea Costa percorrendo Piazza Matteotti, Corso Cavour per arrivare davanti al palazzo comunale, dove si svolgerà un breve momento celebrativo con il sindaco, Luca Secondi, il Presidente del Rotary Club, Alessio Tomassucci e il vescovo, Monsignor, Luciano Paolucci Bedini, prima del via libera alla discesa del tricolore dalla torre civica, lo spettacolo di luci dei fuochi d’artificio (che tornano dopo anni di assenza) ed il tradizionale brindisi.
