Forte dei Marmi 10 giugno – 18 settembre 2023 Il Comune di Forte dei Marmi, la Fondazione Villa Bertelli e Oblong Contemporary Art Gallery, annunciano l’apertura della mostra ESSERE GEOMETRICO dell’artista colombiano GUSTAVO VELEZ che sarà aperta al pubblico dal 10 giugno al 18 settembre 2023.
“La traduzione scultorea di danza e musica, allestita da Gustavo Velez nella terra dei nobili marmi seguendo l’astrazione geometrica di forme e linee, è un invito a riflettere sui concetti di equilibrio, di armonia, di essenzialità, di pulizia, di leggerezza, di libertà, che non riguardano solo l’arte ma, in maniera più rimarchevole, la vita stessa”. Così scrive Domenico Piraina, storico dell’arte, che curerà il testo critico del catalogo della mostra di Gustavo Velez. Interamente composta da opere monumentali, allestite tra il lungomare e le vie del centro della città, in dialogo con gli spazi urbani e il paesaggio circostante, la mostra è l’evento espositivo che Forte dei Marmi promuove per arricchire la città di grandi opere d’arte nel periodo più importante dell’anno. Il nucleo di opere di Gustavo Velez rappresenta anche una delle tradizioni storico-artistiche più importanti del territorio, la scultura. Qui, da sempre, i più grandi scultori della storia si sono misurati con i materiali lapidei delle Alpi Apuane, tra cui il bianco statuario conosciuto in tutto il mondo come pietra scultorea per preziosità. La Versilia, dove sono presenti anche alcune tra le più importanti Fonderie Artistiche del Paese, accoglie questa mostra straordinaria di Gustavo Velez il cui percorso consente di osservare le forme più belle della scultura contemporanea. Gli angoli più suggestivi dell’elegante città Toscana, uno spazio culturale privilegiato e un luogo espositivo sempre fruibile, ospitano le otto opere di Gustavo Velez realizzate in marmo, in acciaio e in bronzo.
