Questa scelta conferma la centralità che le politiche di sociale hanno per questa Amministrazione nell’interesse di tutti. I due istituti avranno sede presso la Fondazione Arezzo Comunità, sempre di più luogo di incontro dei diritti e delle progettualità di interesse comune. Faustina Bertollo e Silvia Antichetti daranno un contributo importante ognuna nel proprio ruolo per affermare sempre di più Arezzo come città dei diritti”. Così il vice sindaco Lucia Tanti ha commentanto le nomine di Faustina Bertollo garante per i diritti dei disabili e di Silvia Antichetti garante per i diritti degli anziani, entrambe approvato all’unanimità dal Consiglio Comunale. Gli incarichi avranno durata triennale, per il primo si tratta di una riconferma, mentre rappresenta una novità la nomina del garante degli anziani proposta con atto di indirizzo dalla consigliera Mery Cornacchini. “Sono onorata di essere stata riconfermata garante dei diritti delle persone con disabilità da questa Amministrazione per poter continuare il lavoro intrapreso nel precedente triennio. L’attenzione alle persone con disabilità rappresenta per me un costante ed attento impegno per la tutela dei diritti e degli interessi individuali o collettivi in materia di disabilità al fine di perseguire la rimozione degli ostacoli, anche di carattere sociale e culturale, che si frappongono al riconoscimento di pari dignità e opportunità per le persone con disabilità, favorendo le politiche di inclusione sociale e per il miglioramento dell’autonomia personale. Vorrei essere di supporto all’Amministrazione e rappresentare il punto di riferimento per tutte le persone con disabilità che hanno necessità di un sostegno al fine di poter rendere gli ostacoli che impediscano la mobilità e la piena inclusione sociale delle persone con disabilità meno insormontabili”, ha dichiarato Faustina Bertollo.
“La società deve essere pronta ad affrontare le problematiche collegate alla terza età e per farlo ha la necessità di costruire un supporto normativo da attuare in maniera organica e programmata, riconoscendo i giusti diritti dell’anziano, rimuovendo le discriminazioni a tutt’oggi presenti in certi aspetti della vita sociale. L’auspicio è quello di promuovere un coordinamento di interventi unitamente con tutti i settori che operano nel sociale – dalla ASL alle associazioni sindacali -, che hanno competenze anche in materia socio-assistenziale, incentivare stili di vita sani e attivi, vigilare sull’assistenza prestata agli anziani ricoverati in strutture residenziali favorendone il benessere. Essendo stata testimone delle necessità dei miei genitori anziani, ho vissuto in prima persona le sfide e le difficoltà che possono incontrare le persone anziane nella nostra società. Sono profondamente motivata a lavorare per migliorare la qualità della vita degli anziani nel nostro Comune e a valorizzare il loro contributo prezioso alla nostra comunità.”, ha commentanto Silvia Antichetti.
La sede operativa dei due garanti sarà organizzata presso la Fondazione Arezzo Comunità, a Palazzo Fossombroni in Piazza San Domenico.
