Si è tenutoil secondo Torneo di Balestra Manesca dell’anno, valido per il Palio delle quattro Porte.Quello svolto era dedicato a San Giacomo, Santo al quale era intitolata una delle quattro antiche Porte di Città di Castello.Con una partecipazione di 22 Balestrieri, il torneo ha avuto subito tra i principali protagonisti due ragazze, Madonna Donella Bernini e Madonna Antonella Belli, che hanno dato filo da torcere ai vari Messeri delle quattro Porte rappresentate ottenendo punteggi di rilievo.
Alla fine delle tre terne di dardi scagliati verso “lo tasso” dai contendenti, la classifica ha visto ben cinque Balestrieri racchiusi in una decina di punti, il che ha reso il risultato incerto fino all’ultimo tiro.Per ciò che riguarda la Porta Vincitrice, il Torneo se lo è aggiudicato Porta San Giacomo con 288 punti, 17 in più di Porta San Florido.Tra i singoli balestrieri la classifica ha visto primeggiare Messer Raffaele Ercolanelli di Porta San Florido con 95 punti, seguito da Madonna Donella Bernini di Porta San Giacomo e da Messer Roberto Giudici di Porta San Giacomo con 89 punti.Nella classifica generale, valida per il titolo di miglior balestriere dell’anno, Messer Raffaele Ercolanelli ha quindi rosicchiato 5 punti nei confronti di Madonna Donella Bernini che, dall’alto dei suoi 178 punti dopo due gare, ha ancora un vantaggio di 4 punti sull’inseguitore, 18 punti sulla coppia formata dai Messeri Roberto Giudici e Luca Bugnoli, e 19 punti su Messer Roberto Lucaccioni.Il prossimo appuntamento sarà domenica 10 settembre per il Torneo dedicato a Porta San Florido.La manifestazione si svolgerà sempre in Piazza Gabriotti e sarà preceduta come di consueto, nel pomeriggio di sabato 9 settembre, dalla chiama della popolazione al Torneo per le vie del centro tifernate da parte dei musici della Compagnia dei Balestrieri di Città di Castello.
