Il Presidente generale Antonio Montani interviene dopo la pubblicazione, sulla pagina Facebook di Mountain Wilderness Italia, di un post che mette in dubbio la chiarezza della posizione del Cai
«La posizione ufficiale del Club alpino italiano è fermamente contraria all’utilizzo ludico dei mezzi motorizzati in montagna, primo tra tutti l’elicottero che è sicuramente il più impattante. Tale posizione è data anche dalla convinzione che non è questo il modello di sviluppo turistico che giova alla montagna. Per questo motivo invito fermamente tutte le Sezioni a rispettare le posizioni ufficiali del Sodalizio astenendosi da iniziative inappropriate. Allo stesso modo mi permetto di invitare gli amici di Mountain Wilderness a continuare le lodevoli battaglie ambientaliste che molto spesso ci vedono affiancati, cercando di distinguere con intelligenza chi sono i veri nemici. Il Cai, con i suoi oltre 340.000 soci, rappresenta una realtà che lavora quotidianamente, grazie all’impegno dei propri volontari, per l’educazione e la tutela ambientale e credo vada per questo rispettata e non attaccata».Queste le parole del Presidente generale del Club alpino italiano Antonio Montani dopo la pubblicazione, sulla pagina Facebook di Mountain Wilderness Italia, di un post che mette in dubbio la chiarezza della posizione del Cai relativamente all’eliturismo e all’eliski.La tutela della montagna e lo sviluppo sostenibile dei suoi territori saranno proprio il tema del 101esimo Congresso nazionale dell’associazione, intitolato “La montagna nell’era del cambiamento climatico”, che si terrà a Roma sabato 25 e domenica 26 novembre 2023.
Lobiettivo del Congresso è di individuare una linea guida che, partendo dallattuale contesto, guardi al futuro e sottolinei limportanza di promuovere un approccio sostenibile alla montagna. Questo evento e il suo percorso di costruzione intendono dunque rappresentare unopportunità di ampio confronto interno ed esterno, in cui il Club alpino italiano rafforza il suo impegno civile per la tutela della montagna.
