Mattarella sul posto: ‘Oltraggio alla convivenza’. Il Presidente della Repubblica Sergio Mattarella, nel primo pomeriggio si è recato alla stazione di Brandizzo, dove stanotte sono morti cinque operai travolti da un treno mentre stavano lavorando ai binari della linea ferroviaria Torino-Milano
Ad accogliere il capo dello Stato il sindaco di Brandizzo, Paolo Bodoni, il vicepresidente del Consiglio regionale del Piemonte, Gianluca Gavazza, la vicepresidente del Pd, Chiara Gribaudo, insieme al sindaco di Torino e della Città metropolitana, Stefano Lo Russo, e al presidente della Regione Piemonte, Alberto Cirio. Primo cittadino e governatore erano già stati sul luogo dell’incidente stamattina. Le cinque vittime sono Michael Zanera, 34 anni, di Vercelli; Giuseppe Sorvillo, 43 anni, di Brandizzo; Saverio Giuseppe Lombardo, 52 anni, di Vercelli; Giuseppe Aversa, 49 anni, di Chivasso; Kevin Laganà, 22 anni di Vercelli. I cinque sono deceduti sul colpo a causa del forte impatto. Erano tutti operai della società Sigifer di Borgo Vercelli, nel Vercellese e al momento dell’incidente stavano per iniziare la sostituzione di alcune rotaie. Il treno in transito al binario 1 li ha travolti in pieno, uccidendoli sul colpo. Sono stati dimessi dall’ospedale di Chivasso (Torino) dove erano stati ricoverati in stato di shock i due operai rimasti illesi nell’incidente. Dimessi anche i due macchinisti che si trovavano sul convoglio coinvolto nell’incidente. La procura di Ivrea ha aperto un fascicolo per disastro ferroviario colposo e omicidio colposo plurimo in merito all’incidente. Al momento il fascicolo è a carico di ignoti. “Per quanto riguarda la velocità del treno investitore, le condizioni della linea gli consentivano in quel tratto di raggiungere una velocità massima di 160 km/h. La questione è altra: i lavori – secondo procedura – sarebbero dovuti iniziare soltanto dopo il passaggio di quel treno”. Lo spiega Fs sul proprio quotidiano online Fs News circa l’incidente di Brandizzo. “Ci sono le ricognizioni in corso, la procura sta facendo il suo, il ministero nominerà anche una commissione d’inchiesta interna, perché nel 2023 non si può morire di notte lavorando sui binari, qualcosa non ha funzionato, c’è stato un errore umano”, ha detto il vicepremier Matteo Salvini all’Italian Pavillion al Lido di Venezia nell’ambito della Mostra del cinema. L’incidente di questa notte “è un dramma, in un contesto già problematico – ha aggiunto – oggi pomeriggio risentirò il mio collega francese perché c’è il traforo Frejus chiuso per frana, il Monte Bianco che rischia di chiudere per lavori, il San Gottardo dove c’è stato un deragliamento, qui rischiamo veramente il blocco. Obiettivo è riaprire Frejus prima possibile anche se è sul fronte francese quindi spetta a loro, ho chiesto la cortesia di rinviare i lavori sul Monte Bianco altrimenti è il caos”. “Da notizie che ho avuto dagli operai presenti, pare ci sia stato un problema di comunicazione tra la squadra presente sul posto e chi doveva coordinare i lavori. Ma sarà la magistratura a fare chiarezza su quello che è successo”. Così il sindaco di Brandizzo, Paolo Bodoni, in merito alla tragedia di questa notte. “Il nostro pensiero oggi va alle famiglie dei ragazzi coinvolti – aggiunge il sindaco – questa è una tragedia per tutta la nostra comunità”. “L’indignazione e il cordoglio non bastano più, è il momento di agire, questa strage va bloccata immediatamente: domani si fermeranno per quattro ore, per uno sciopero nazionale, i dipendenti della società Rfi, addetti alla gestione e esecuzione della manutenzione alle infrastrutture. Altri due scioperi sono previsti per lunedì a Vercelli e in Piemonte”. Così, in una nota, il segretario generale della Cgil, Maurizio Landini. “Il gravissimo incidente ferroviario che stanotte a Brandizzo, a pochi chilometri da Torino, ha ucciso cinque lavoratori della manutenzione ferendone altri due, è l’ennesimo episodio di una storia già scritta, fatta di appalti, privatizzazioni, mancato rispetto delle norme di sicurezza, aumento dei ritmi di lavoro, riduzione del personale”. Lo afferma il sindacato Usb che annuncia la proclamazione di 24 ore di sciopero per tutti i lavoratori delle Ferrovie. “Per protestare contro questa ennesima dimostrazione di un criminale abbassamento delle tutele sul lavoro – si legge in una nota – Usb indice uno sciopero nazionale di 24 ore di tutti i lavoratori delle ferrovie a partire dalle ore 15:36 di oggi”. “A sedici anni di distanza siamo di fronte a una nuova Thyssen. Quello che è successo alla stazione di Brandizzo è inconcepibile, soprattutto a Torino e in Piemonte”. Lo afferma Giorgio Airaudo, segretario generale Cgil Piemonte. “Il sistema dei subappalti e degli appalti – osserva – fa risparmiare le imprese, ma mette a rischio salute e vita dei lavoratori e delle lavoratrici. Politiche aziendali tese al risparmio aumentano i rischi e le vittime, determinano tragedie e compromettono la vita di persone che escono da casa per lavorare e non ci ritornano più. E’ un sistema che va cambiato”. Dalle immagini registrate dalle telecamere di videosorveglianza della stazione, la procura di Ivrea, che sta cercando di ricostruire la dinamica dell’accaduto, conta di potere acquisire importanti dettagli. I due operai rimasti illesi sono al momento sotto osservazione in ospedale a Chivasso. Sotto shock il macchinista, visitato da un’ambulanza sul posto e mandato a casa, che guidava un secondo collega in cabina. Sarà probabilmente interrogato già in mattinata. Il treno, come riferiscono i carabinieri, viaggiava a 160 chilometri all’ora e gli operai stavano eseguendo dei lavori di sostituzione di alcuni metri di binari vicino alla stazione, quando è passato il convoglio tecnico, trasportando una dozzina di vagoni da Alessandria verso Torino. Il presidente della Regione Piemonte, Alberto Cirio, si è recato sul luogo dell’incidente. Ha già sentito la presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, che ha chiesto a Cirio informazioni sull’incidente ferroviario a Brandizzo in uno scambio di messaggi. Lo rende noto il Presidente della Regione Piemonte. “Rfi esprime profondo dolore di fronte a quanto accaduto e porge il proprio cordoglio e la vicinanza ai familiari degli operai deceduti” si legge in una nota della Rete ferroviaria italiana (Rfi), in cui viene spiegato che “erano in corso interventi di manutenzione da parte di una ditta appaltatrice esterna” e che “un treno non in servizio commerciale ha investito alcuni operai. La dinamica di quanto accaduto – viene precisato – è al vaglio delle autorità competenti e di Rete ferroviaria italiana”.
