AREZZO – Ufficializzata la nuova intitolazione a Filippo Corridoni dell’area verde adiacente a via Montefalco e poco oltre la rotatoria dove si incrociano via Petrarca, viale Piero della Francesca e via Baldaccio d’Anghiari. È stato l’assessore Federico Scapecchi insieme al consigliere pronvinciale Cinzia Santoni a svelare la targa frutto di un atto di indirizzo di Fratelli d’Italia approvato in Consiglio Comunale il 16 giugno 2022 con 15 voti favorevoli, 2 astenuti e 2 contrari.
Nel corso del dibattito in aula fu il consigliere comunale Francesco Palazzini a tracciare il profilo di Filippo Corridoni, definito “eroe nazionale e difensore della patria e dei lavoratori, esempio di altruismo e generosità sia nella vita civile che militare”.
“Arezzo – ha ricordato l’assessore Scapecchi – trasmette così la memoria di un personaggio animato da grande spirito battagliero e irredentista, morto durante la Grande Guerra nel 1915 in un luogo non banale: a San Martino sul Carso, reso immortale dai versi della poesia che l’anno dopo Giuseppe Ungaretti intitolò proprio a quello sfortunato paese”.
“Filippo Corridoni merita il nostro ricordo – ha commentato il consigliere di FdI Francesco Palazzini – sia per lo straordinario impegno nella lotta per l’uguaglianza sociale, sia per il profondo attaccamento dimostrato a valori che oggi da alcuni possono essere ritenuti superati ma di cui invece abbiamo estremamente bisogno, ovvero quell’amor patrio che lo ha spinto, nonostante le sue cagionevoli condizioni di salute, a scegliere di combattere la prima guerra mondiale. Un’area verde, luogo d’incontro tra generazioni, ci è sembrato il luogo più adatto per questa intitolazione, immaginando che le persone più grandi possano raccontare l’esperienza di Corridoni a quei ragazzi che, leggendo qui il suo nome potrebbero chiedere chi sia stato”.
