Questo l’incipit di “Fuochi”, raccolta di prose liriche scritta nel 1935 da Marguerite Yourcenar, prima donna eletta alla Académie française. Perché, dunque, non raccontarlo grazie alla messa in scena?Al Teatro Di Documenti dal 2 al 4 febbraio in scena “Fuochi” di Enrico Torzillo, liberamente ispirato all’omonimo classico novecentesco.
Antico e moderno si fondono alla ricerca dell’animo umano, messo al rogo dall’amore non ricambiato. Una serie di ritratti reduci da violente esperienze di vita: le figure di Clitemnestra, Maria Maddalena e Faone, l‘amante della poetessa Saffo, conducono il pubblico in un vero e proprio viaggio esperienziale all’Inferno, in uno spazio teatrale non convenzionale, all’interno di un quadro oscuro e suggestivo. Storie di donne, forse di qualche uomo, ma, in generale, di “figure”, ormai mostruose, che sono state esseri umani, finiti, per violente ragioni comuni, all’Inferno, dove scontano le loro pene: il pubblico potrà incontrarle, giudicarle e, solo in remoti casi, aiutarle a trovare un riscatto. Fuochi” è una raccolta di scritti su quegli amori che si impongono alla vittima come malattia e vocazione.
Un macabro carillon che attinge al panorama della mitologia classica e della tradizione giudaico-cristiana, strizzando l‘occhio al teatro di Luca Ronconi e Carmelo Bene, nella loro versione “da cantina”.
