Bandiere a mezz’asta listate a lutto ed una sezione di libri e testi a tema dedicata in biblioteca, in occasione del “Giorno del Ricordo”, solennità nazionale istituita nel 2004 che ogni anno rinnova la memoria della tragedia delle foibe e dell’esodo degli istriani, dei fiumani e dei dalmati italiani durante la seconda Guerra Mondiale e nell’immediato dopoguerra. “Una tragedia dimenticata per molto tempo che abbiamo il dovere di ricordare, per condividere insieme una memoria che i drammatici eventi della storia c’ha consegnato. Dobbiamo farlo per tutti ed in particolare per le giovani generazioni”, ha dichiarato il sindaco Luca Secondi nel condividere il messaggio del Presidente della Repubblica, Sergio Mattarella di ieri che ha sottolineato come il “Giorno del Ricordo è stato votato a larghissima maggioranza in Parlamento”. A rendere ancora più significativa la giornata anche la Biblioteca comunale Carducci che partecipa allo spirito con cui è stato istituto il Giorno del Ricordo, allestendo uno scaffale con testi che riguardano un dramma della storia emblematico e di come sia necessario avere sempre una coscienza vigile verso ogni forma di violenza”. “Tutti i cittadini e soprattutto i giovani, che più difficilmente possono conoscere il contesto e le motivazioni delle vicende che ebbero per teatro l’Istria e la Dalmazia, avranno così la possibilità di conoscere meglio questa pagina della storia nella nostra biblioteca”, conclude il sindaco Luca Secondi.
