SANSEPOLCRO – Da qualche mese sono iniziati i lavori di riqualificazione del tratto urbano che costeggia Viale Vittorio Veneto. Si tratta di interventi che interessano le zone adibite a parcheggi, quelle destinate al transito pedonale e, soprattutto, i più complessi aspetti riferiti alla salvaguardia del verde urbano.
Le alberature del viale costituiscono un polmone verde per la città, oltre a rappresentare una componente essenziale del decoro architettonico della cinta muraria. Gli alberi presenti lungo Viale Vittorio Veneto svolgono anche un’azione benefica quale occasione di relax per i passanti, oltre alla funzione di mitigazione delle temperature contro il formarsi delle “isole di calore”. Consapevole di tutto ciò l’Amministrazione comunale, nell’intento di mantenere in piedi la maggior quota possibile del patrimonio arboreo tramandatoci da lungo tempo, ha deciso di destinare una quota delle proprie risorse alla ricognizione e all’individuazione puntuale delle piante da conservare sottoponendole a dei giudizi di stabilità e di sicurezza per l’incolumità dei cittadini. Per contro l’indagine ha consentito di individuare quegli alberi che, invece, presentano alterazioni strutturali tali da non consentire di rientrare nelle classi di sicurezza stabilite dai diversi metodi ufficiali di valutazione utilizzati a livello nazionale.Per avere dati certi e confermati da più fonti l’Amministrazione comunale ha affidato tempo fa, a un’impresa specializzata sul settore, un primo incarico per esprimere dei giudizi in merito alla stabilità delle piante dei viali cittadini. Dalla valutazione è emerso che il patrimonio arboreo di Sansepolcro presenta alcune sofferenze dovute alla generale vetustà degli alberi attualmente presenti e alla scarsa sostituzione, da più tempo mai avvenuta, di quelli deperiti e invecchiati. Dando seguito ai risultati dei rilievi è stato necessario procedere all’abbattimento di alcune piante giudicate, già dalla prima valutazione, non sicure per l’incolumità dei cittadini. In occasione di tale prima analisi erano emersi dei dubbi su alcuni alberi che, per un giudizio più completo, richiedevano ulteriori indagini strumentali. Per questo, di recente, l’Amministrazione comunale ha affidato, a un diverso professionista, l’incarico per esprimere un parere definitivo in merito alla sicurezza sia con riferimento agli alberi precedentemente rimasti in una situazione di incertezza, sia quale conferma dei giudizi di pericolosità precedentemente espressi. L’indagine più recente, eseguita con un diverso metodo di classificazione ha confermato la necessità, per garantire la sicurezza dei frequentatori della zona, di procedere all’abbattimento di 12 piante, le medesime già indicate a rischio nella precedente valutazione. A queste devono aggiungersi due piante di tiglio già indicate, nel corso della prima indagine, come soggetti incerti da ricontrollare entro il 2023-2024. Nel contempo, il professionista incaricato della più recente valutazione, ha ritenuto non necessario l’abbattimento di una pianta di ippocastano e una pianta di tiglio precedentemente rimaste con giudizio in sospeso. In definitiva le indagini eseguite nel corso degli anni, con i due diversi protocolli ufficiali applicati nella valutazione di stabilità delle piante, a loro volta affidati a professionisti diversi, consentono di rassicurare i cittadini di Sansepolcro in merito alla fruizione in piena sicurezza degli spazi posti in adiacenza a viale Vittorio Veneto. Anche per i prossimi stralci della riqualificazione urbana compresa nel finanziamento del PNRR si procederà con specifiche valutazioni degli alberi al fine di individuare quelli da mantenere in piedi in sicurezza e quelli che dovranno essere sostituiti con la piantagione di alberi giovani che assicurino il mantenimento nel tempo degli indispensabili benefici derivanti dal verde urbano della città.
