MILANO – PER IL LAVORO DEI PROPRI VOLONTARI AD ASSISI FLASHMOB: “RISPETTO! NO MOTO SUI SENTIERI” Sabato 25 maggio 2024 il Club alpino italiano sarà in Piazza del Comune ad Assisi per invitare nuovamente la Regione a rivedere la norma che ha liberalizzato la frequentazione dei sentieri per i mezzi a motore L’iniziativa si terrà al termine della prima giornata di lavori dell’Assemblea nazionale dei Delegati del CaiL’appuntamento per tutti è alle ore 19:00.
Il Club alpino italiano annuncia un flashmob, intitolato “Rispetto! No moto sui sentieri”, per ribadire la propria netta contrarietà alla norma regionale che da gennaio scorso consente di percorrere i sentieri umbri con i mezzi motorizzati. Quest’anno l’Assemblea dei Delegati del Cai si svolge ad Assisi e rappresenta un’ulteriore occasione per chiedere alla Regione Umbria rispetto per il lavoro dei soci impegnati a titolo volontario nella manutenzione dei sentieri, il cui fondo viene gravemente danneggiato dal passaggio dei mezzi a motore. Il flashmob, al quale hanno titolo di partecipare oltre 1200 Delegati delle Sezioni Cai di tutta Italia, il Presidente generale Antonio Montani, i componenti del Comitato direttivo centrale e i Consiglieri centrali, è fissato per sabato 25 maggio alle 19 in Piazza del Comune. In Umbria i volontari delle Sezioni del Cai si occupano della manutenzione di 447 percorsi, per un totale di 3570 km, della Rete escursionistica regionale. Un lavoro gratuito, portato avanti da decenni, che ha permesso di conservare quel patrimonio di viabilità in ambiente naturale utilizzato oggi dalla Regione Umbria per definire il proprio territorio “il cuore verde d’Italia”. Se si dovesse monetizzare in termini orari questo lavoro, si otterrebbe una cifra di diversi milioni di euro all’anno. Il secondo aspetto che il Cai vuole evidenziare è la miopia della Regione nel ritenere che una promiscuità di frequentazione della rete sentieristica da parte di escursionisti a piedi e di mezzi a motore possa portare a dei risultati economici di rilievo, al di là dei danni provocati al fondo dei sentieri.In tutti i territori dove tale promiscuità è stata sperimentata, è stato riscontrato un drastico calo delle presenze turistiche dei camminatori e, dopo un’impennata iniziale, anche una contrazione dei frequentatori con mezzi a motore.
Per dimostrare l’assurdità dell’emendamento Puletti, poi approvato nella legge di bilancio, il Club alpino italiano tre mesi fa ha consegnato un dossier alla Presidenza della Regione Umbria. Il dossier dimostra che i 10mila euro messi a disposizione per l’apposizione di cartelli di divieto, unico strumento per vietare il transito sui sentieri ai mezzi a motore, non sono assolutamente sufficienti, considerata la quantità di sentieri. Secondo la stima del Cai, per poter produrre e apporre tutti i cartelli necessari occorrerebbe quasi mezzo milione di euro, pur tenendo conto che l’esecuzione dei lavori è in carico all’Agenzia Forestale Regionale dell’Umbria a prezzo calmierato. A ciò si aggiunge il tempo necessario alla realizzazione e posa dei cartelli, difficilmente quantificabile, oltre al probabile impatto dal punto di vista paesaggistico. «I nostri volontari, circa 6000 in tutta Italia, sono al lavoro tutto l’anno per la cura di un bene collettivo come la rete sentieristica, la prima e fondamentale infrastruttura leggera che consente il turismo sostenibile nei territori montani», afferma il Presidente generale del Cai Antonio Montani. «Ad Assisi vogliamo lanciare un messaggio simbolico, ma chiaro: è inaccettabile avere sentieri che vengono costantemente rovinati dal passaggio dei mezzi motorizzati. Invitiamo ancora una volta la Regione a rivedere una norma che compromette, a beneficio di un numero limitato di persone, un bene che è di tutti e per tutti».
