Alla scoperta della magia della coscienza: filosofia, neuroscienze e intelligenza artificiale. 27 – 29 giugno 2024 Museo di Santa Maria della Scala, Siena Il centro internazionale per lo studio della coscienza (ICCS), recentemente costituto, annuncia la sua prima conferenza, in collaborazione con l’Università di Siena, Messina e Milano (IULM).
La tre giorni di incontri, avente come titolo “Alla scoperta della magia della coscienza. Filosofia, neuroscienze, intelligenza artificiale”, si terrà al Museo Santa Maria della Scala a Siena dal 27 al 29 giugno. Filosofi di fama internazionale provenienti da tutto il mondo si riuniranno per indagare se è possibile svelare la magia della coscienza attraverso un quadro scientifico e se questo fenomeno richieda una spiegazione che va oltre le scienze cognitive. Il convegno è strutturato come un appuntamento di lavoro tra scienziati e filosofi e prevede conferenze, discussioni aperte, revisione di manoscritti e di articoli pubblicati, sintesi di progetti di ricerca e discussioni dei risultati. Tra i partecipanti ci sarà Pietro Perconti, leader e fondatore dell’ICCS, professore di filosofia della mente all’Università di Messina e autore, tra l’altro, con Alessio Plebe di “The Future of the Artificial Mind”. Alla conferenza 2024 di Siena saranno presenti altre personalità di spicco, come il professore emerito Nick Humphrey dalla London School of Economics, Alex Byrne, professore al Massachusetts Institute of Technology, e Riccardo Manzotti, professore alla Università IULM di Milano. Il centro internazionale per lo studio della coscienza (International Center for Consciousness Studies, ICCS) è stato fondato nel 2024 da Dmitry Volkov, Ph. D., Pietro Perconti ed Alessio Plebe ed è un’associazione culturale no profit che ha come obiettivo quello di promuovere la ricerca filosofica e interdisciplinare internazionale sulla mente e sulla coscienza. Tra le finalità principali, l’impegno ad organizzare conferenze, facilitare discussioni pubbliche, ospitare eventi sociali e artistici e concedere borse di studio per giovani studiosi e ricercatori, supportandone il percorso. L’ICCS si sta affermando come forza trainante nel promuovere il dibattito sulla coscienza. Nick Humphrey, David Stoljar, Eric Olson, Tim Bayne, Uriah Kriegel, Michael Pauen e Keith Frankish, sono alcuni dei filosofi che fanno parte dell’ICCS.
