ANGHIARI – Mattimonio Castello di Sorci, Anghiari (Ar) 10 – 19 agosto 2024 XXIX edizione Si terrà da sabato 10 a lunedì 19 agosto, nel cortile del castello di Sorci, ad Anghiari, la XXIX edizione di Tovaglia a Quadri, “cena toscana con una storia da raccontare in quattro portate”. Scritta da Paolo Pennacchini e da Andrea Merendelli, che ne cura anche la regia, e interpretata dagli abitanti della Valtiberina, Tovaglia a Quadri è uno spettacolo irripetibile che registra ogni anno il tutto esaurito e una lunga lista d’attesa.
Una delle caratteristiche salienti della manifestazione è la scrittura drammaturgica legata alla memoria civile della collettività, con storie locali che hanno però un respiro nazionale: dalla chiusura delle attività commerciali a causa dell’incremento dell’ecommerce alla crisi della natalità, dall’emigrazione alla svendita dell’acqua pubblica. Storie antiche e temi di potente attualità, condensati in questo evento divenuto, come afferma Gianfranco Capitta, “immancabile e imperdibile verifica dal vivo dei mutamenti di costume e di fede (innanzitutto politica), e di cultura che ogni volta scopre qui le sue contraddizioni” costringendo tutti noi a “fare i conti con diversi falsi valori, equivoci mediatici, trasformazioni strutturali ed epocali, di cui almeno una sera si può ridere” grazie all’umorismo toscano che rende accettabili le realtà tutte pienamente documentate, in un vero e proprio teatro della memoria collettiva. Quest’anno il tema attraversato è la follia, o presunta tale, come affermano gli autori: “Una donna libera, creativa, indipendente, fa ancora paura. Da sempre. Così l’uomo ha cercato nei secoli di controllarla, inibirla e in alcuni casi segregarla. In un matrimonio patriarcale o in un manicomio abissale. In questa estate 2024, al Castello di Sorci si sposeranno, con rito religioso, due giovani. Lui è un bravo “citto” come si dice in quest’angolo di Toscana, lo sanno tutti. Lei non sembra una brava “citta”, lo dice qualcuno e lei non lo nasconde. Colei che appare come la contessina ereditaria del castello, è matta. Ad Anghiari, quasi 100 anni fa, viveva una ragazza che si chiamava Adalgisa, il marito la rinchiuse nel manicomio di Arezzo perché era indomabile, per lui e per quella società giudicante. Le vicende di queste due donne poetiche e malinconiche, libere ma ossessionate, si incrociano riportando in vita l’importanza di essere se stesse, della necessità di aprire le gabbie culturali e quelle fisiche, come il grande psichiatra Basaglia fece, aprendo tra mille critiche i manicomi”. Mattimonio prende infatti vita, non a caso, a 100 anni dalla nascita di Franco Basaglia, l’uomo che ha rivoluzionato il mondo della psichiatria. Gli autori di Tovaglia a Quadri hanno ritenuto fondamentale raccogliere la sfida che, oggi più che mai, sembra rimanere in eredità dall’esperienza basagliana: rimuovere lo stigma sociale che ancora accompagna la malattia mentale – tema trascurato, minimizzato, rimosso – riportando al centro della narrazione collettiva le storie di vita delle persone. In ciò i linguaggi artistici sono eccezionale strumento di indagine, lettura e partecipazione. L’arte può farsi carne, dare vita, corpo e voce alle migliaia di uomini e donne, prima esclusi e poi rimossi e dimenticati. Da qui l’idea, immaginata e realizzata insieme all’Associazione Centro Franco Basaglia di Arezzo, di lanciare un progetto culturale – Normali mai – che faccia riemergere storie dimenticate e temi rimossi. L’Edizione 2024 di Tovaglia a Quadri, con Mattimonio, è perciò inserita nel programma degli eventi del progetto Normali Mai. Confermate – grazie al grande riscontro da parte del pubblico – le iniziative sperimentate nelle passate edizioni: dal “libretto di sala” in lingua inglese dedicato ai commensali stranieri e contenente le sinossi dei quattro quadri, all’evento speciale – realizzato in collaborazione con l’Associazione Mearevolutio(nae) – rivolto prevalentemente al pubblico più giovane che, in questa edizione, si svolgerà al termine della replica di sabato 17 agosto. Nel percorso di avvicinamento alla XXIX edizione di Tovaglia a Quadri saranno inoltre presentate ulteriori iniziative che caratterizzeranno Mattimonio. Percorsi di sensibilizzazione, coinvolgimento e partecipazione ideati e realizzati in collaborazione con la cooperativa sociale L’Albero e La Rua.
Tovaglia a Quadri 2024 è una produzione dell’Associazione Culturale Compagnia Teatro Stabile di Anghiari ed è realizzata con il supporto di Regione Toscana, Provincia di Arezzo, Unione Montana dei Comuni della Valtiberina Toscana, Comune di Anghiari, Residenze Artistiche Toscane, Rete Teatrale Aretina, Associazione Pro Anghiari e con il contributo di Busatti, Baldi Group, Biokyma, Caffè River, Coingas, Piccini Paolo, Vimer.
