SANSEPOLCRO – Dal 30 agosto al 29 settembre 2024 Spazio Art & People di via XX Settembre 106, a Sansepolcro (AR), ospita “Salotto borghese”, installazione site specific e doppia personale di Maurizio Rapiti e Meri Ciuchi a cura di Giovanni Tricca. Per l’occasione ci sarà una performance musicale di Lenz
Venerdì 30 agosto, alle ore 19, l’inaugurazione ufficiale con la performance musicale a cura di Damiano Lanzi, in arte Lenz. L’esposizione sarà visitabile dal venerdì a domenica, dalle ore 18 alle 22, a ingresso libero e gratuito. Lusso, sfarzo, conversazioni e ostentazioni, simbolo del potere, dello status sociale e di ricchezza, il salotto è per eccellenza la rappresentazione di una classe, la borghesia, che ne ha fatto un luogo culto, dove ospitare rituali eccentrici e incontri riservati. Il salotto è il racconto di una classe, cambia nell’estetica, ma mai nel significato di ciascun simbolo. Nell’antica Borgo Sansepolcro, dove “borghese” è anche il nome di chi abita il luogo, tutto questo assume un sapore ancor più autentico e particolare. Nasce da questi presupposti il nuovo progetto di Maurizio Rapiti e Meri Ciuchi, allestito nel cuore del centro valtiberino, in uno degli spazi espositivi più intriganti della città di Piero della Francesca. “Maurizio Rapiti e Meri Ciuchi, compagni nella vita, sono due artisti con due approcci all’arte totalmente distanti – osserva il curatore Giovanni Tricca. – Lui ironico e irriverente, figlio d’arte di un copista, rilegge opere dei grandi del passato, consegnandoceli con innesti simbolici adatti al terzo millennio. Lei profonda e sensibile, nelle sue opere, dove foto e ricamo si incontrano, il simbolo è criptico, frutto di una ricerca interiore, di sguardi e voci sul passato che raccontano una storia non detta”. Accanto a opere emblematiche dei loro recenti percorsi artistici, Rapiti e Ciuchi presentano per l’occasione una sorprendente installazione site specific a quattro mani. Il risultato finale è la creazione di uno spazio dove i simboli si confrontano e assumono insieme nuove letture, ma sarebbe meglio dire “nuove e antiche”, come i salotti borghesi.
