– Alla vigilia dell’inaugurazione della XXIV° Edizione della Mostra Mercato del Libro e della Stampa Antica in programma a Città di Castello, da Venerdi 30 Agosto a Domenica 1 Settembre, Giorgio Zangarelli di “Assografici” lancia un originale appello rivolto ai giovani a ritrovare il piacere del profumo dell’inchiostro e dello scrivere a penna su un foglio bianco facendo riferimento ad un progetto nazionale della Fondazione Luigi Einaudi che ha deciso di costituire un Osservatorio permanente Carta, Penna & Digitale: “portiamo i nostri figli e nipoti alla mostra a vedere come è nata la scrittura”
Il bello di scrivere a penna su un foglio bianco. “Il profumo dell’inchiostro e il contatto con la carta delle pagine da sfogliare non potranno mai essere sostituti dalla tecnologia, che serve, è utile, ma non ha la stessa funzione dello scorrere di una penna su un foglio bianco. Oggi in tanti non sanno più scrivere in corsivo e i bambini, i giovani talvolta a fatica riescono a firmare il loro nome e cognome. Ben vengano dunque progetti meritori come quello della Fondazione Luigi Einaudi che ha deciso deciso di costituire un Osservatorio permanente Carta, Penna & Digitale aperto al contributo dei principali esperti e operatori del settore sulla ricerca e sensibilizzazione sull’imprescindibilità della lettura su carta e della scrittura a mano e sulla ricerca di una giusta ed efficace dieta mediatica che includa prodotti di carta e prodotti digitali.” Un appello originale ma concreto e ricco di significati quello lanciato da Giorgio Zangarelli, membro del direttivo della Sezione grafica-cartotecnica di Confindustria Umbria, consigliere nazionale di Assografici, e Presidente dello Stabilimento Tipografico Pliniana Soc. Coop, fondata nel 1913, alla vigilia dell’inaugurazione della XXIV° Edizione della Mostra Mercato del Libro e della Stampa Antica in programma a Città di Castello, da Venerdi 30 Agosto a Domenica 1 Settembre, presso la suggestiva sede di Palazzo Vitelli a San Egidio. In vendita ed in mostra opere rare di grande pregio che attraversano i secoli. Organizzata dall’Associazione Palazzo Vitelli a sant’Egidio, con il supporto dell’Amministrazione comunale, sarà questa ventiquattresima una edizione di straordinario interesse culturale. Parteciperanno 40 espositori italiani ed esteri distribuiti in 35 stand. La sede sarà, Palazzo Vitelli a sant’Egidio, un edificio rinascimentale tra i più belli del centro Italia, ed in sintonia con i prodotti esposti. Questi affidabili professionisti di settore proporranno opere garantite di pregio e rare come manoscritti miniati, cinquecentine ed altro fino al XXI secolo. Di notevole interesse il settore dell’incisione con cartografia, vedutistica e grafica d’autore antica e moderna. “Oggi con l’avvento della tecnologia, del digitale e dell’innovazione, utile e talvolta indispensabile per carità, c’è il serio rischio di perdere il contatto con la carta e di sostituire sempre di più la scrittura intesa nel senso primordiale, quella che i maestri e le maestre ci hanno insegnato a scuola, con l’introduzione di nuovi metodi “hi-tech”. Proprio per scongiurare tutto questo, ritengo meritoria a livello nazionale l’attività che sta portando avanti la Fondazione Luigi Einaudi con l’”Osservatorio Carta, Penna & Digitale” che ha ha presentato al Salone del Libro di Torino, per far recuperare in particolare ai ragazzi la voglia di scrivere a penna ed il contatto con la carta”, ha sottolineato Zangarelli facendo riferimento alla evoluzione che da anni sta riguardando tutto il settore grafico e cartotecnico anche in Umbria e a Città di Castello da sempre considerata come una delle “capitali” del comparto.Il Distretto industriale nel settore Grafica e Cartotecnica a Città di Castello ha una lunga tradizione di artigiani tipografi che nasce nel XVI secolo e dal 1799 con la Tipografia Grifani Donati, attualmente proprietà di un discendente dei fondatori e museo vivente della stampa con macchinari d’epoca. Alla fine dell’Ottocento nasce la Scipione Lapi, stabilimento nel quale saranno stampati libri fondamentali tra cui nel 1909 il Metodo di Maria Montessori. Tra Ottocento e Novecento la tipografia tifernate si consolida e si affina nelle tecniche grazie alla scuola grafica presente in città che forma generazioni di maestri artigiani. Nella seconda metà del Novecento e soprattutto negli anni Settanta il settore grafico e cartotecnico diventa un comparto industriale di piccole e medie aziende, spesso terzicontiste di grandi nomi dell’editoria nazionale ed internazionale. Dagli anni Ottanta, il distretto cartotecnico di Città di Castello diventa una realtà riconosciuta anche dalle statistiche economiche. In Umbria le aziende della filiera cartaria, grafica e cartotecnica sono oltre 500 con circa 3500 collaboratori che, concentrate prevalentemente nella provincia di Perugia, a Città di Castello ed in altotevere in particolare, rappresentano il 4,4 per cento delle imprese nazionali e 4 per cento degli addetti (fonte Confindustria Umbria). “La mostra Mostra Mercato del Libro e della Stampa Antica in programma a Città di Castello, da Venerdi 30 Agosto a Domenica 1 Settembre è senza dubbio una ottima opportunità anche per i genitori di portare i loro figli a visitare gli stand e fargli toccare con mano e vedere con gli occhi quanto è importante la scrittura, leggere, a partire dai testi antichi dove tutto è nato” – ha concluso Giorgio Zangarelli, ringraziando il presidente dell’associazione Palazzo Vitelli a Sant’Egidio, Fabio Nisi, il curatore della mostra, Giancarlo Mezzetti, il sindaco Luca Secondi e l’assessore al Commercio e al Turismo Letizia Guerri. L’inaugurazione ufficiale, alla presenza delle Autorità, è fissata per Sabato 31 agosto, ore 9,30.

Domenica 1 Agosto, 9,00 – 19,00. mPalazzo Vitelli a San Egidio
Splendido edificio costruito intorno alla metà del XVI secolo per Paolo II Vitelli (1519-1574), celebre condottiero a servizio dei Farnese di Parma e dell’imperatore Carlo V. La facciata verso il giardino mostra un alto porticato a cinque arcate sostenute originariamente da colonne che, danneggiate dal terremoto del 1789, sono state inglobate nei grandi pilastri. Nelle ampie volte dell’ingresso e del porticato si possono osservare particolari architettonici e decorazioni pittoriche che richiamano modelli toscani. Non si conosce con certezza l’architetto, anche se alcuni studiosi ipotizzano l’intervento dell’Ammannati. Attraverso un’ampia scala, con volta affrescata da Prospero Fontana, si raggiunge il salone del piano nobile, un tempo vastissimo, che dopo un incendio nel 1686 venne ridotto nelle proporzioni attuali. Sulle pareti lo stesso artista, coadiuvato da Cristofano Gherardi, detto il Doceno, da Orazio Samacchini e dal Pomarancio ha illustrato le imprese della famiglia Vitelli. Seguono una serie di stanze, dagli splendidi soffitti cinquecenteschi a lacunari, intagliati, dorati e dipinti, o coperte a volte decorate con stucchi e pitture del ‘500 e del ‘600. Il Palazzo prospetta su quello che un tempo era uno splendido giardino all’italiana, dove troviamo ancora un boschetto di lecci e un ninfeo. Il vasto giardino è recintato a nord-est dalle antiche mura urbiche e in fondo, su un rialzo, appare l’elegante architettura della Palazzina Vitelli, costruita attorno ad una torretta medievale. La loggia è affrescata dal Fontana e dai suoi allievi con paesaggi, festoni di frutta e fiori e una scena mitologica.
