La Rete Aretina Pace e Disarmo ha aderito e partecipato alla “Marcia della pace e della fraternità” che si è svolta ad Assisi sabato 21 settembre. La giornata è stata scandita da due eventi: al mattino oltre 30 relatori si sono alternati davanti a una platea di circa 500 persone nelle sale della Domus Pacis di S. Maria degli Angeli, portando la testimonianza e le proposte dei vari settori della società civile (associazioni laiche e religiose, mondo della scuola e università, amministratori locali, partiti politici, europarlamentari).
Nel pomeriggio si è svolto il corteo che ha raggiunto Assisi, a cui la Rete Aretina ha partecipato portando lo striscione già usato per accogliere il Presidente Mattarella lo scorso 25 aprile in visita a Civitella in Val di Chiana. Il titolo della giornata “PRIMA DI TUTTO LA PACE” è solo apparentemente banale: vuole ricordare al mondo della politica che pretendere di risolvere i conflitti con la guerra è un inganno.
