L’andata, giocata a Cortona domenica 8 settembre, si era chiusa con il punteggio di 5-3 per le padrone di casa dopo una buona prestazione corale. Per il ritorno era sufficiente quindi strappare quattro set sulle complicate della squadra campione d’Italia di Osteria Grande. Cronaca dell’incont Nel campo dell’individuale il CT Barboni schiera Giulia Pierozzi che si trova di nuovo opposta a Silvia Pesavento, in cerca del riscatto. La bolognese parte bene ma non riesce a mantenere a lungo il vantaggio, uscendo sconfitta in entrambi i set. Nella coppia Rachele Maggio e Barbara Valteroni perdono il primo set. Elisa Fanicchi subentra a Valteroni e, un punto alla volta, le cortonesi si aggiudicano il secondo set contro Laura Luccarini-Elisa Faedi. Il primo turno si chiude quindi sul punteggio di 1-3, quasi impensabile alla vigilia. Dopo l’intervallo in campo scende la coppia Pierozzi-Maggio che perde il set per 7-8 in favore di Capelli-Pesavento ma, quasi in contemporanea, sulla corsia a fianco una bocciata ben colpita e un pizzico di fortuna permettono alla coppia Fanicchi-Boguslawa di conquistare il set e quindi aggiudicarsi la vittoria dell’incontro. La Cortona Bocce – Lamberti M. Recupero Materiale Ferroso passa quindi il turno e si appresta a giocare i quarti di finale contro le maceratesi della Fontespina di Civitanova Marche. La squadra che vincerà andrà alla final four prevista a Teramo per i giorni 9/10 novembre.
