Sono queste le tracce che Gaston Rébuffat, uno dei più importanti alpinisti dell’epoca d’oro del sesto grado, insieme a Lionel Terray, Pierre Mazeaud e Walter Bonatti, ha lasciato nella sua autobiografia alpinistica La montagna è il mio mondo, la cui nuova edizione esce oggi per la collana “Stelle alpine”, coedita da Hoepli e Club alpino italiano. Formatosi come scalatore negli anni Trenta sulle Calanques di Marsiglia, il giovane Gaston Rébuffat, dopo lunghi viaggi a piedi tra le montagne del Sud della Francia, giunge in vista del Monte Bianco, apparizione rivelatrice che cambierà il suo futuro.Inizia così un viaggio irripetibile tra le montagne dei sogni, dal Monte Bianco al Cervino, dall’Eiger all’Annapurna, quando ancora erano solitarie e piene di mistero.Oltre alle scalate, le pagine di La montagna è il mio mondo raccontano il mestiere di guida alpina, il rapporto con i compagni di avventura, il grande incanto per una natura inospitale, severa e proprio per questo sempre attraente «Il piacere segreto e meraviglioso della ricerca dell’itinerario, la soddisfazione di sentirsi in armonia con la natura, la roccia, il ghiaccio; trovare la via giusta, indovinare gli appigli. Indovinare…». È questa l’essenza dell’esprit montagne, lo spirito delle montagne, che sgorga dalle pagine dell’autobiografia di quello che si può definire uno dei più capaci e sensibili alpinisti di tutti i tempi. Il libro è frutto del sapiente lavoro di Françoise Rébuffat, moglie di Gaston, che, dopo la morte del marito nel 1985, ha ricomposto i suoi scritti più significativi pubblicati nel tempo su diversi libri e sulla stampa quotidiana e periodica. Arricchiscono il volume la prefazione del giornalista e scrittore Marco Albino Ferrari e la postfazione del direttore artistico e giornalista Antonio Massena (presidente della Commissione centrale cultura del Cai), dedicata al cinema di Rébuffat, vincitore del Trento Film Festival nel 1955 con Étoiles et Tempêtes. “La montagna è il mio mondo” (218 pagine, dimensioni 15×21 cm) è disponibile in libreria a un prezzo di 27,90 euro. Il volume sarà acquistabile anche sullo store online del Club alpino italiano (store.cai.it) Gaston Rébuffat Nato a Marsiglia nel 1921, ha trascorso la vita a Chamonix, sotto la sua grande montagna, il Bianco, dove ha aperto vie divenute classiche e ripetuto itinerari estremi. Rébuffat è stato una guida alpina amatissima, un modello a cui guardare per molti maestri di alpinismo, anche di oggi. La sua eredità come divulgatore è vasta e significativa: è stato regista e ha dato alle stampe numerose pubblicazioni, apprezzate anche dal vasto pubblico, come Stelle e tempeste, Tra terra e cielo, Ghiaccio neve e roccia, Il massiccio del Bianco: le 100 più belle ascensioni.
