L’equipe di Ginecologia ha asportato una massa addominale potenzialmente pericolosa per la paziente
L’equipe dell’Unità operativa complessa di Ostetricia e Ginecologia dell’ospedale Santa Maria alla Gruccia ha effettuato nei giorni scorsi un importante intervento ginecologico in urgenza per la rimozione di una massa pelvica di grandi dimensioni.
La paziente è arrivata in pronto soccorso con un dolore acuto all’addome e con difficoltà respiratorie ed è stata sottoposta a tac e a visita ginecologica. I risultati degli accertamenti hanno rilevato la presenza di una grande massa che le occupava tutto l’addome e che le aveva procurato un’infezione alle pelvi.
La donna è stata sottoposta ad intervento chirurgico d’urgenza per scongiurare che l’infezione si propagasse, con esiti potenzialmente molto rischiosi. L’operazione ha visto un lavoro congiunto con l’equipe di chirurgia generale e anestesiologica.
«È stata rimossa una massa di circa 30 centimetri di grandezza e con un peso di tre chili che aveva già provocato una infezione alla paziente – spiega il direttore di Ostetricia e Ginecologia, dottor Filippo Francalanci – In queste situazioni la tempestività e il lavoro di squadra giocano un ruolo chiave e voglio ringraziare i colleghi e le colleghe del pronto soccorso, della chirurgia, della radiologia e della rianimazione per il lavoro di equipe che ha permesso in poco tempo di risolvere questa situazione potenzialmente molto pericolosa per la signora. Ora la paziente sta bene ed è stata dimessa dall’ospedale».
