Come ogni Natale che si rispetti, la Cartaria Aretina propone un nuovo volume da mettere sotto l’albero. Il 2024 porta in dote “Arezzo. Storia e Arte”, la guida turistica pubblicata in origine nel 2014, che a distanza di dieci anni torna nelle librerie con una veste rinnovata e ampliata. “Luminosa città collinare della Toscana, Arezzo vanta un’origine antichissima – scrive il fondatore della cartolibreria di via Cavour Giorgio Feri nella sua prefazione. – La presenza dell’uomo nel territorio si può far risalire a tempi remoti. Fu una delle maggiori lucumonie etrusche, successivamente città romana di importanza strategica. Nel Medioevo fu libero comune, in cui spesso prevalsero gli interessi della parte ghibellina, in antagonismo con la guelfa Firenze. Dopo il 1384 divenne un dominio fiorentino e, come tale, nel Cinquecento entrò a far parte del Granducato di Toscana. Questo volume vuole essere un omaggio a una delle più belle città d’Italia, ricca di storia e di opere d’arte”. Palazzi storici, chiese, musei, piazze, siti archeologici, rievocazioni e manifestazioni folkloristiche. Non manca nulla nella guida della Cartaria Aretina, indispensabile per il turista italiano o straniero che passeggia in città, grazie ai testi affiancati dalla traduzione in inglese, ma utile anche agli aretini che vogliono conoscere meglio la loro terra e i tesori che custodisce.
