Una data tutta da segnare quella del 1° dicembre 2024 per Stefano Meocci e non solo, in un’agenda già prossima ai nuovi appuntamenti sportivi del 2025.In una giornata invernale dal clima primaverile, si è dato il via alla 44a edizione della Maratona di Valencia in Spagna, la più grande competizione podistica europea, che quest’anno ha contato ben 37.000 partecipanti. Tra i 3 mila italiani partecipanti, il più forte Umbro-Toscano, l’infermiere Stefano Meocci, che in 4 ore e 2 minuti ha percorso ben 42 km, svettando gli ultimi metri al traguardo su un accecante tappeto celeste.
Meocci viene da un passato dove lo sport è sempre stato protagonista nella sua vita, ma diversi accadimenti, purtroppo di salute, succedutesi anche in rapidità in età giovanile, volevano privarlo della continuità. Invece, fiducioso nelle sue possibilità di ripresa, aiutato dagli affetti familiari e dagli amici, che lo hanno sostenuto nel dare voce ad un carattere coraggioso e perseverante, raggiunge dopo importanti sacrifici questo grande obiettivo: riuscire in una maratona, eh che maratona, la più grande ed importante a livello europeo. “L’emozione non si è fatta attendere, era lì pronta all’arrivo, ma queste sono lacrime di gioia ed esultanza che si possono provare quando è la tua volontà a vincere su tutte le operazioni e i rischi passati” – queste le sue parole quando al rientro in Italia all’aeroporto di Roma ricorda ai suoi amici i grandi momenti vissuti. Ora torna ad allenarsi, per nuove sfide e nuovi podi da conquistare, perchè il sapore di quell’entusiasmo lo ha profondamente motivato; d’altronde da buon infermiere sa quanto sia fondamentale il detto delle Satire di Giovenale “mens sana in corpore sano”.Un’altra data che risuona in famiglia è quella del 7 dicembre 2024; non si fanno attendere nuovi giovani talenti sportivi: la figlia Teresa Meocci della Polisportiva Buddy & i Tre Tesori si è già aggiudicata diverse medaglie d’oro nel corso del 2024 nella specialità di ginnastica artistica, ritmica e acrobatica e proprio dicembre scorso vince la medaglia di bronzo al palasport di Rimini, accreditandosi gli aggettivi della “più giovane e talentuosa in assoluto”.
