Nei giorni scorsi l’amministrazione comunale di Città di Castello ha donato alle scuole secondarie pubbliche e paritarie del territorio sette dvd di due film che raccontano e testimoniano il dramma dell’Olocausto. Tre copie della pellicola “Il bambino con il pigiama a righe”, adattamento cinematografico dell’omonimo romanzo di John Boyne uscito nelle sale nel 2008, che è stato diretto e sceneggiato da Mark Herman e ha vinto tra gli altri riconoscimenti il Premio Goya, sono state affidate agli studenti e agli insegnanti della scuola statale Alighieri-Pascoli, dell’Istituto Comprensivo Alberto Burri e della secondaria di primo grado dell’istituto San Francesco di Sales. Quattro copie del film “La zona d’interesse”, adattamento cinematografico dell’omonimo romanzo del 2014 scritto da Martin Amis, che è stato scritto e diretto nel 2023 da Jonathan Glazer e ha vinto due premi Oscar, sono state consegnate al Liceo Statale Plinio il Giovane, al Polo Tecnico Franchetti-Salviani, all’Istituto di Istruzione Superiore Patrizi Baldelli Cavallotti e all’istituto San Francesco di Sales per gli allievi della secondaria di secondo grado. “Attingiamo a una delle espressioni culturali più elevate e impattanti come il cinema, per mettere a disposizione di studenti e docenti strumenti di consapevolezza e riflessione da impiegare durante tutto l’anno, oltre la ricorrenza”, sottolinea l’assessore ai Servizi Educativi Letizia Guerri. “Pensiamo infatti – prosegue l’assessore – che sia centrale fornire ai ragazzi e alle ragazze strumenti di riflessione e confronto affinché siano proprio i nostri giovani gli anticorpi più potenti per riconoscere e combattere ogni forma di violenza, negazione della libertà e discriminazione”. Premiato nel 2024 con l’Oscar come miglior film internazionale e per il miglior sonoro (Tarn Willers e Johnnie Burn), “La zona d’interesse” è stato candidato ad Hollywood anche per le statuette al miglior film, al miglior regista e alla miglior sceneggiatura non originale. Candidato anche al Golden Globe come miglior film drammatico, miglior film straniero e per la migliore colonna sonora originale, ha vinto il premio speciale della giuria al Festival di Cannes 2023 e nel 2024 si è aggiudicato il premio della British Academy of Film and Television Arts come miglior film britannico, miglior film non in lingua inglese e miglior suono, ottenendo anche riconoscimenti all’European Film Awards (miglior sonoro) e al National Board of Review Award (uno dei migliori cinque film stranieri dell’anno). La pellicola interpretata da Sandra Hüller e Christian Friedel racconta la storia di una famiglia che vive in prossimità del campo di concentramento di Auschwitz e, immersa nella propria quotidianità, nega consapevolmente l’orrore che si consuma a pochi passi da sé.
