Storia del doppio cognome in Italia (e non solo)”, è il titolo di un recente saggio scritto da, Maria Dell’Anno Sevi (già vincitrice del Premio Letterario Città di Castello 2018 e di altri prestigiosi premi a livello nazionale)scrittrice, giurista e criminologa, pubblicato dalla casa editrice tifernate, LuoghInteriori, che è stato presentato ieri presso la sala del consiglio comunale su iniziativa della Associazione Culturale Tracciati Virtuali e dell’UDI (Unione Donne d’Italia) sezione di Città di Castello, inserito dalla Amministrazione Comunale fra le iniziative per le celebrazioni della Giornata Internazionale della Donna. Ha dialogato con la scrittrice, Sara Pasquino, presidente dell’UDI Perugia, e ha coordinato l’incontro, Alice Forasiepi, responsabile di redazione di LuoghInteriori. L’evento, patrocinato dal Comune è stato possibile grazie anche alla importante collaborazione con altri club ed associazioni del territorio: il Lions Club di Città di Castello, il Coordinamento Donne SPI CGL Altotevere, l’ANPI di Città di Castello, gli “Amici della Biblioteca Carducci” e l’Associazione Controvento. L’8 marzo non è solo un giorno di celebrazione, ma di riflessione e di impegno. Jean-Paul Sartre diceva che l’essenza di un individuo è la somma delle sue scelte, ma cosa accade quando una scelta non ci è concessa? Quando l’identità di una madre viene considerata secondaria, sacrificabile, invisibile? “L’identità non è un dettaglio burocratico – ha dichiarato, Maria Dell’Anno Sevi – ma il fondamento di ciò che siamo. Privare qualcuno del diritto di riconoscersi pienamente significa negargli un pezzo della sua esistenza. E questo non riguarda solo le donne, ma la società intera, perché l’uguaglianza non è una concessione: è un principio che ci rende tutti più liberi. La legge italiana, fino al 2016, prevedeva la possibilità di dare alle figlie e ai figli fino a tre nomi ma un solo cognome. O meglio questo non era ciò che la legge italiana prevedeva, bensì ciò che dava per scontato: da nessuna parte la legge italiana prevedeva esplicitamente che alla nascita dovesse essere imposto alle figlie e ai figli di persone coniugate il solo cognome del padre, lo considerava implicito, ovvio, talmente ovvio da non meritare una previsione di legge. Grazie alle sentenze della corte costituzionale, è prevista alla nascita l’attribuzione del cognome di entrambi i genitori. Quante persone lo sanno? E quante persone sanno quanto è stato difficile arrivare a questo risultato?. “Questo libro è dedicato a tutte le donne e agli uomini che hanno lottato per il loro e per il nostro diritto alla piena identità, ai bambini e alle bambine, perché crescano in un mondo consapevole delle discriminazioni, anche di quelle che vengono date per scontate e che per questo si impegnino a cambiarlo”. La storia del doppio cognome in questo libro dunque si intreccia con tante altre storie, compresa quella dell’autrice, storie di donne e uomini, di figlie e figli, di genitori che hanno lottato per i propri diritti anche quando si sentivano dire che “c’è ben altro a cui pensare. “È una storia appassionante – ha puntualizzato Sara Pasquino – che ci riguarda tutte e tutti, e che ancora non è finita. Il libro, la storia che racconta ci aiuta a vivere questa giornata e non solo con una rinnovata coscienza su un tema quello dei diritti delle persone, della condizione femminile che è sempre attuale”.  Plauso anche dalle istituzioni a questa iniziativa letteraria. “Per celebrare la ricorrenza dell’8 marzo Città di Castello abbiamo allestito una settimana di eventi alla donna, aprendo un ventaglio di opportunità di confronto e riflessione con la cittadinanza sulla condizione femminile nella società attuale, sui diritti acquisiti e ancora da affermare pienamente, sul tema della parità di genere, sulla lotta alle diseguaglianze, ai pregiudizi e alle violenze, insieme a occasioni per approfondire la conoscenza di figure importanti della storia e dei giorni nostri. Grazie anche al protagonismo del mondo dell’associazionismo della città, –  ha dichiarato l’assessore alle Pari Opportunità Letizia Guerri, nell’indirizzo di saluto a nome dell’amministrazione comunale – attualità, cultura, arte e spettacolo saranno le chiavi di lettura attraverso le quali, in modi diversi e interessanti, la nostra comunità sarà sensibilizzata nei confronti delle donne, ma saranno celebrati anche il coraggio, l’intelligenza, la determinazione, la saggezza e il talento che, nel passato e nel presente, ne fanno dei simboli dell’affermazione dei diritti universali e delle libertà. La presentazione del libro di oggi che ha un titolo significativo e affronta tematiche di stretta attualità rientra in questo modo di affrontare a 360 gradi una giornata simbolo a livello mondiale riferimento per tutti i giorni dell’anno”, ha concluso l’assessore alle Pari Opportunità, elencando alcuni dati statistici effettuati sulla registrazione delle nascite  con attribuzione del doppio cognome (paterno e materno) dal 2016 al 2024: sul totale di 2347 dichiarazioni di nascita, 80, circa il 3,40%, sono con doppio cognome di cui 47 maschi e 33 femmine.  Il promotore dell’iniziativa Antonio Vella ha ricordato come “sia proprio un aspetto peculiare previsto dallo Statuto della Associazione Culturale Tracciati Virtuali quello di promuovere iniziative che abbiano un valore non soltanto culturale ma anche e soprattutto sociale. L’impegno dell’Associazione va da sempre in questa direzione, promuovendo la salvaguardia dei diritti di ogni individuo con una profonda attenzione a garantire la dignità di ognuno. Il nostro impegno – ha concluso Vella – si lega da sempre alla promozione dei libri che, come in questo caso, non devono avere solo una valenza letteraria ma essere fonte di ispirazione per riflettere su molteplici aspetti della nostra società che spesso sono poco conosciuti”.
