Al centro si trova un uomo anziano che regge un righello, forse un cenno alla professione di architetto di Vel Rafi. Alcuni studiosi ritengono che la porta potrebbe non simboleggiare l’aldilà, ma piuttosto una porta della città che ha contribuito a progettare. Dato che le mura etrusche di Perugia furono costruite durante la sua vita, questa urna potrebbe servire come tributo al suo contributo all’architettura della città.
