IL CLUB ALPINO ITALIANO LANCIA LO “SPRING BLITZ ITALIA”, INIZIATIVA NAZIONALE DI CITIZEN SCIENCE PER LE SORGENTI. Giovedì 20 marzo alle 21 in programma il webinar di presentazione Organizzato nell’ambito del progetto “Acqua Sorgente”, lo “Spring Blitz Italia”
si rivolge a tutti coloro che desiderano dare un contributo alla scienza monitorando le sorgenti d’acqua nel mese di aprile 2025, periodo di massima ricarica delle risorse idriche Un monitoraggio collettivo da svolgersi in tutta Italia nel corso del mese di aprile, per restituire una fotografia dello stato delle sorgenti alla fine del periodo piovoso, quando le risorse idriche sono al massimo della ricarica e prima dell’inizio dei periodi di magra estivi. Queste le caratteristiche dello “Spring Blitz Italia”, iniziativa di citizen science che il Club alpino italiano lancia in vista della Giornata Mondiale dell’Acqua 2025 (22 marzo) nell’ambito del progetto “Acqua Sorgente”. Per il Cai la Giornata Mondiale dell’Acqua rappresenta un’ occasione per riflettere sull’importanza dell’acqua come risorsa vitale per il pianeta e per ogni essere vivente, e su come l’impegno collettivo possa contribuire alla conoscenza delle risorse idriche a scala nazionale. Come partecipare Le persone interessate a partecipare allo “Spring Blitz” potranno monitorare il più alto numero possibile di sorgenti nei propri territori utilizzando l’applicazione gratuita “Acquasorgente” (iOS e Android) e seguendo le istruzioni.
I dati raccolti (presenza o assenza d’acqua, portate, conducibilità elettrica e temperatura) saranno confrontati con quelli relativi al periodo di minor ricarica delle risorse idriche (tra fine estate e inizio autunno).
Il webinar di presentazione di giovedì 20 marzo Lo “Spring Blitz Italia” sarà presentato in un webinar, in programma giovedì 20 marzo alle 21, durante il quale saranno illustrati gli obiettivi dell’evento (https://tinyurl.com/webinarAS20marzo).
Interverrà come ospite il dott. Stefano Natali, esperto di idrologia del Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra dell’Università di Pisa. Chi non potrà partecipare troverà la registrazione su acquasorgente.cai.it/eventi Lo stato di avanzamento del progetto “Acqua Sorgente” Con il progetto di citizen science “Acqua Sorgente”, lanciato nella primavera dello scorso anno, il Cai sta identificando, classificando e monitorando le sorgenti d’acqua che si trovano nell’ambiente montano di tutto il territorio nazionale. Nel corso del primo anno, sono state monitorate più di 950 sorgenti, con risultati accolti con favore dalla comunità scientifica. Le sorgenti misurate sono caratterizzate da un range ampio di temperature (tra 4.7 e 24.3 °C) e conducibilità elettriche (tra 20 e 1661 microsiemens per centimetro), e risultano essere da fredde e oligominerali a ipotermali e mediamente mineralizzate. Le portate variano da 0.001 e 1.9 L/s (litri per secondo), fino a 6 L/s, mentre la correlazione tra la temperatura delle acque sorgive e la quota delle sorgenti ha coefficiente 6 °C / 1000 m. «Il dato relativo al coefficiente è dovuto probabilmente all’influenza della temperatura atmosferica esterna, che ha quasi lo stesso gradiente, sulle temperature del sottosuolo dove circola l’acqua», spiega il coordinatore scientifico di “Acqua Sorgente” Matteo Nigro. «Il trend delle temperature rispetto alla quota suggerisce che probabilmente le falde acquifere che alimentano le sorgenti hanno circolazioni poco profonde. Riuscire a osservare un processo atteso nei dati raccolti sul terreno, indica che quei dati rappresentano il processo stesso, dunque sono affidabili».
Il progetto ha avviato importanti collaborazioni di ricerca con enti, università e scuole, con i quali sono stati svolti tesi e tirocini.
