“Santa Margherita”, il primo in Umbria, una nuova opera della Diocesi di Città di Castello, progettata per offrire cure dentistiche gratuite e accessibili a persone in situazione di fragilità economica. Nel corso del cordiale incontro, alla presenza anche del direttore della Caritas tifernate, Gaetano Zucchini, il sindaco ha ricordato la pluridecennale collaborazione e sinergia fra le istituzioni ed il presidio diocesano vero e proprio front-office territoriale con i fragili e le persone in difficoltà. Proprio nel 2021 la Caritas a Città di Castello ha celebrato  il cinquantesimo “compleanno” di attività: dopo la Caritas di Spoleto-Norcia quella tifernate fu una delle prime diocesi italiane a introdurre l’organismo pastorale.  “La sinergia messa in atto dalla Diocesi con la Caritas su vari fronti della nostra comunità è motivo di orgoglio per tutti noi e ci spinge a fare sempre più rete e supportare le buone pratiche socio-solidali per non lasciare indietro nessuno” ha dichiarato il sindaco Luca Secondi nel ringraziare, il direttore di Caritas italiana, don Marco Pagniello, per la presenza a Città di Castello, assieme al vescovo, Luciano Paolucci Bedini, e a tutti i volontari dell’associazione e dei gruppi parrocchiali preziose ed efficaci “antenne” sul territorio per intercettare e gestire le emergenze sociali sempre più diffuse. Il direttore di Caritas italiana, don Marco Pagniello, si è detto onorato dell’accoglienza ed ha ringraziato il sindaco e le istituzioni per la continua vicinanza e sostegni evidenziando “l’importanza di iniziative come quella inaugurata ieri nel quadro nazionale”: “la Chiesa, come sempre, fa la sua parte dando risposte concrete e segnalando bisogni veri”.
