Domenica 18 maggio, in contemporanea mondiale con oltre 100 paesi, tra cui l’Italia presente con 55 città, l’Associazione FERRO E Motus ripropone a Città di Castello il “Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride“ un evento che riunisce motociclisti in stile classico e vintage per la raccolta di fondi per la ricerca sul cancro alla prostata e la salute mentale degli uomini
La manifestazione, fondata a Sidney da Mark Hawwa nel 2012, ha raccolto ad oggi una somma di 70,4 milioni di dollari australiani che sono stati investiti dalla fondazione Movember in molte nazioni, tra cui l’Italia, per sostenere ricerche all’avanguardia su test e trattamenti per il cancro alla prostata, iniziative che migliorano la qualità della vita degli uomini che convivono con la malattia e progetti innovativi per la salute mentale degli uomini. Quella di quest’anno è l’undicesima edizione della manifestazione che FERRO E Motus organizza a Città di Castello, dichiara il Presidente dell’Associazione Matteo Barbagli, e si svolgerà seguendo il consueto protocollo con il ritrovo dei partecipanti a Piazza Garibaldi di Città di Castello per proseguire alle ore 11 con il corteo motociclistico che attraverserà alcuni paesi del territorio della Val Tiberina fino a Celalba di San Giustino dove presso Villa Magherini Graziani si terrà, dalle ore 13 in poi, l’intrattenimento pomeridiano al quale sono invitate a partecipare, con ingresso libero, anche tutte le persone che desiderano trascorrere una giornata unica all’insegna della beneficienza.ì Un ringraziamento particolare è rivolto all’Amministrazione Comunale di Città di Castello che ha messo a disposizione Piazza Garibaldi per il raduno della mattina e quella di San Giustino che ha concesso l’uso di Villa Magherini Graziani per l’intrattenimento pomeridiano senza le quali non ci sarebbero stati i presupposti per una buona riuscita dell’evento. Anche per il 2025 ci aspettiamo un numero importante di partecipanti; l’anno scorso avevamo iscritti alla manifestazione oltre 280 equipaggi, ma molto dipende dalle condizioni meteo della giornata che se non sono favorevoli pregiudicano pesantemente la presenza dei partecipanti. L’evento del DGR a Città di Castello è quello che ha dato maggiore risalto all’Associazione FERRO E Motus a livello locale, ma non solo, infatti anche a livello nazionale la manifestazione è molto apprezzata per l’organizzazione e lo stile dell’intrattenimento e di questo abbiamo avuto riscontro dalla partecipazione assidua di molti equipaggi provenienti dal centro Italia.
FERRO E Motus però non è solo il DGR, aggiunge il Presidente dell’Associazione Matteo Barbagli ma anche tanta altra progettualità frutto della partecipazione degli associati che spazia dalle attività dell’ Officina Condivisa che per alcuni progetti coinvolge anche la scuola I.I.S. “Patrizi-Baldelli-Cavallotti” sede IPSIA a quella di altre manifestazioni come la festa di compleanno della FERRO E Motus o i giri motociclistici programmati con cadenza mensile oltre all’evento della “Apecchiese Tranquilla – SP257” finalizzato a sensibilizzare i motociclisti, e non solo, nel condurre una guida in sicurezza secondo i dettami del codice della strada oltre che le Amministrazioni competenti a migliorare la manutenzione del fondo stradale, la segnaletica e i dispositivi di sicurezza, programmata, salvo imprevisti, per Domenica 21 Settembre.
Quest’anno però l’attenzione dell’Associazione è principalmente rivolta al progetto della nuova sede. Un ex casello ferroviario che tramite bando pubblico c’è stato assegnato da Umbria TPL Mobilità e sul quale dovranno essere eseguiti importanti lavori di ristrutturazione che impegneranno, sotto tutti gli aspetti, i soci e non solo. Per questo l’associazione è alla ricerca di sponsorizzazioni che possano contribuire a realizzare quest’intervento che per la particolare tipologia di edificio e ubicazione si sposa perfettamente con le esigenze dell’associazione fornendo un elevato potenziale a tutta una serie di attività che al momento, nell’attuale sede, non è possibile intraprendere.
