La Fondazione annuncia la presentazione del numero speciale di “1492. Rivista della Fondazione Piero della Francesca”, dedicato a nuove scoperte documentarie sulla famiglia di Piero della Francesca. Il saggio dal titolo “Dagli antenati di Piero della Francesca agli ultimi Franceschi: nuovi documenti” è di Ilaria Marcelli, direttrice dell’Archivio di Stato di Arezzo.
L’incontro si terrà venerdì 30 maggio alle ore 17, presso la Casa di Piero della Francesca in via Niccolò Aggiunti. Interverranno: Eugenia Valacchi (Dirigente della Soprintendenza archivistica e bibliografica della Toscana) e Claudia Borgia (Soprintendenza archivistica e bibliografica della Toscana).Il numero speciale nasce da un ampio e rigoroso lavoro di ricerca condotto dall’autrice” commenta Francesca Chieli, presidente della Fondazione “che ha interessato sia archivi privati e familiari, come l’Archivio Franceschi Marini, da lei riordinato qualche anno fa, sia archivi pubblici comunali e statali. I documenti rinvenuti permettono di ricostruire la storia degli antenati e dei discendenti dell’artista, e gettano nuova luce sui suoi rapporti con famiglie locali, in particolare con quella dei Fedeli, i cui esponenti esercitarono l’attività notarile. Tali materiali, solo in parte anticipati con la conferenza tenuta a Sansepolcro nel 2022, consentono ora di ricostruire con maggiore chiarezza il contesto sociale, economico e culturale nel quale Piero visse e operò, offrendo elementi inediti per la comprensione del suo mondo e della sua opera”.L’iniziativa si svolge con il contributo della Regione Toscana e della Direzione generale educazione, ricerca e istituti culturali del Ministero della Cultura ed è a ingresso libero.
