Il ponte sul tevere si colora e profuma di bianco e rosso grazie ai petali di 320 gerani che fanno bella mostra di sé sui parapetti di uno dei luoghi più cari ai tifernati. “Un ponte con te”, è il nome di una straordinaria iniziativa che ha per protagonisti i bambini e le bambine delle scuole primarie della città (del primo e secondo circolo e “paritarie” del Sacro Cuore e San Francesco di Sales) reso possibile grazie alla disponibilità dei titolari una nota azienda florovivaistica, Valentina Mariottini e Gianluca Gentiletti e la collaborazione della Società Rionale Prato che attraverso volontari del quartiere si occuperanno ogni giorno di accudire ed innaffiare i fiori. Per una volta i piccoli studenti sono stati invitati a lasciare da parte la tecnologia ed il mondo digitale per immergersi nella bellezza della natura. Il progetto, finanziato dall’azienda tifernate, ha offerto loro l’opportunità di “sporcarsi le mani con la terra”, creando un legame con l’ambiente che li circonda. Attraverso la cura e realizzazione dei vasi con fiori di geranio, i piccoli “fiorai” hanno contribuito ad abbellire il ponte sul tevere, vero e proprio biglietto da visita della città, lasciando un segno tangibile del loro impegno. Ed ora passando da quelle parti potranno dire con orgoglio, “questo l’ho fatto io, insieme ai miei amici”. Ogni classe ha avuto modo di compiere una buona azione, contribuendo al benessere della comunità locale. “Nasceranno in questo modo – hanno precisato questa mattina gli assessori, Letizia Guerri, Mauro Mariangeli e Benedetta Calagreti, intervenuti alla inaugurazione – tanti piccoli ponti che avvicineranno ogni bambino e bambina alla natura. Ponti sorretti dal calore dello stare insieme e che saranno il cuore della propria città. Grande merito a chi ha finanziato questo progetto, le famiglie Mariottini-Gentiletti e alla Società Rionale Prato che attraverso propri volontari accudirà ogni giorno i fiori”. Piena adesione da parte dei dirigenti scolastici ed insegnanti dei due circoli didattici delle scuole primarie. “Abbiamo aderito con entusiasmo al progetto “Un Ponte con te”, proposto da Mariottini alle scuole – hanno dichiarato Silvia Ghigi e Simone Casucci, rispettivamente dirigenti scolastici del Primo e Secondo Circolo didattico – perché crediamo profondamente nell’importanza di avvicinare i bambini, fin dai primi anni, al rispetto per la natura e per i beni comuni, attraverso attività concrete e coinvolgenti. “Un Ponte con te” incarna pienamente questa visione: grazie alla guida esperta di Mariottini, i bambini sono stati protagonisti della piantumazione di gerani bianchi e rossi nei vasi che adornano il ponte sul Tevere.
Un gesto semplice, ma ricco di significato: i piccoli si sono presi cura delle piante come fossero loro, imparando così il valore dell’attenzione, del rispetto e della responsabilità. L’idea è che, sentendole proprie, si impegnino anche nei mesi estivi a proteggerle dall’arsura e a curarle con affetto. Valorizzare il nostro ambiente, abbellire strade e monumenti, rendere più vive le nostre città attraverso progetti partecipativi – hanno concluso – significa formare cittadini consapevoli, attenti al bene comune e al decoro urbano, perché, non ci stancheremo mai di trasmettere questa certezza: “la Terra non ci è stata data in eredità dai nostri padri, ma in prestito dai nostri figli” e saranno loro con i semplici gesti di tutti i giorni che ci insegneranno a prendercene cura.” Si tratta di genari zonali, di colorazione intensa bianchi e rossi, resistenti al sole ma bisognosi di acqua ogni giorno. “Sono circa 320 piante collocate in ottanta vasche sopra i parapetti laterali del ponte sul tevere che danno una bella immagine colorata e profumata della città con l’idea del ponte che unisce tutti idealmente proprio in un momento in cui c’è tanto bisogno di unità e condivisione fra i popoli. Ed i bambini questo lo hanno rappresentato al meglio”, hanno sottolineato Valentina Mariottini e Gianluca Gentiletti, nell’esprimere orgoglio e soddisfazione per questo bellissimo progetto, ringraziando il comune, le scuole e la Società Rionale Prato con il suo presidente, Domenico Duchi e i consiglieri e volontari. Presenti questa mattina anche i dirigenti del Canoa Club Città di Castello, i consiglieri, Giulio Ventanni e Pietro Pierangeli.
LA SCHEDA. Il Ponte sul Tevere, costruito nel 1860, a seguito di specifico finanziamento dello Stato Pontificio nella persona di Papa Pio IX, in conseguenza della demolizione del vecchio ponte in legno risalente ai primi anni del 1600, venne minato dai tedeschi nel 1944, durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale e la sua ricostruzione terminò definitivamente nel 1952. La struttura venne ricostruita in muratura come lo è attualmente. Da quel momento la nuova struttura ha ripreso la propria importante funzione di unione commerciale e sociale tra la città storica e la restante parte della città, divisi dal Fiume Tevere.
