il cuore del nuovo “terzo luogo” urbano di Arezzo È stato presentato questa mattina in Palazzo Comunale il progetto della New Public Library di Arezzo, fulcro di un più ampio intervento di rigenerazione urbana destinata a trasformare l’area dell’ex scalo merci in un “terzo luogo”: uno spazio innovativo e accogliente, pensato non solo per lo studio e la lettura, ma come ambiente inclusivo di socialità, cultura, benessere e condivisione.
L’edificio della biblioteca non sarà solo un contenitore di libri, ma un vero centro di vita comunitaria, progettato per rispondere alle esigenze di una città che guarda al futuro. Luogo d’incontro, apprendimento, creatività e tempo libero, sarà il simbolo di un quartiere completamente rinnovato, connesso con il centro storico, la stazione, il parco del Pionta e l’area Baldaccio.
“Si tratta di un progetto ambizioso – ha dichiarato il sindaco Alessandro Ghinelli – che rigenera un’area centrale e oggi dismessa, donandole una nuova identità. La Public Library sarà una biblioteca nel senso più ampio del termine: uno spazio dove si può leggere, ma anche incontrarsi, fare musica, conversare. Un’infrastruttura culturale moderna che risponde soprattutto ai bisogni dei giovani e che proietta Arezzo in una dimensione europea, fondata sul concetto del “terzo luogo”: un ambiente urbano dove la comunità si ritrova, si riconosce e cresce insieme”.
Il progetto urbanistico punta infatti a costruire un quartiere integrato e sostenibile, dove funzioni diverse convivono in armonia: servizi culturali, spazi verdi, attività commerciali e aree per il tempo libero e il benessere si combinano in un ecosistema urbano capace di favorire connessione, inclusione e qualità della vita.
“La Public Library sarà al centro di un’area completamente pedonalizzata – ha spiegato l’assessore Francesca Lucherini – in cui natura e città dialogano tra loro. Una rigenerazione urbana che trasformerà completamente uno spazio oggi vuoto e inaccessibile in una nuova area vissuta di collegamento tra zone strategiche della città: Stazione e Baldaccio, centro storico e Pionta”.
Con la Public Library, Arezzo si dota non solo di un nuovo edificio, ma di un motore di trasformazione urbana e culturale, capace di attivare nuove relazioni, stimolare la creatività e generare senso di appartenenza. Un “terzo luogo” in cui la città si reinventa e la comunità si riconosce.
