Nel giorno del trentesimo anniversario dalla morte, anche Città di Castello, ricorda Alexander Langer  (1946-1995), “ambientalista, costruttore di pace”  a cui nel 2008 è stato dedicato il parco all’ansa del tevere nell’ambito dell’annuale incontro “Fiera delle utopie concrete” – Sindaco Luca Secondi: “i suoi temi, le battaglie di allora sono più attuali che mai”

Nel giorno del trentesimo anniversario dalla morte, anche Città di Castello, ricorda Alexander Langer  (1946-1995), “ambientalista, costruttore di pace”  a cui nel 2008 è stato dedicato il parco all’ansa del tevere nell’ambito dell’annuale incontro “Fiera delle utopie concrete”, manifestazione di grande rilievo internazionale che ha permeato in maniera indelebile la storia della città fra la fine degli anni ’90 ed inizio del duemila. “La figura di Langer e quello che ci ha lasciato in eredità, valori e progetti –  ha dichiarato il sindaco Luca Secondi – è più che mai attuale, anche a distanza di trenta anni dalla sua morte. I temi, le battaglie per uno sviluppo sostenibile di città a misura di persona li ritroviamo oggi prioritari nelle nostre agende istituzionali. Parlare trenta anni fa di riscaldamento globale, risparmio energetico, gestione intelligente dei rifiuti o riduzione del traffico urbano poteva sembrare un azzardo o una fantasia, ora l’importanza di queste tematiche è riconosciuta da tutti. Il ricordo di Langer a Città di Castello è più che mai vivo con un parco dedicato, fiore all’occhiello della città, teatro futuro di grandi trasformazioni e miglioramento della qualità della vita e dell’ambiente. Vogliamo ricordare però anche chi, assieme a lui, come il compianto Karl-Ludwig Schibel, (scomparso lo scorso aprile) coordinatore della Fiera delle Utopie Concrete, ha contribuito allo sviluppo della manifestazione, di un progetto e di una cultura eco-solidale che dovrà sempre guidare il nostro agire quotidiano”, ha concluso il sindaco Luca Secondi, nel ricordare i sindaci, Giuseppe Pannacci e Adolfo Orsini, che dal 1988, anno di fondazione della Fiera delle Utopie Concrete hanno collaborato assieme a lui fino al 1995.
