A Pozzo della Chiana, piccolo paese con un’identità storica e sociale importante, l’amministrazione comunale ha deciso di realizzare una nuova palestra occupando la metà del campo sportivo comunale, anziché ristrutturare quella già esistente accanto alle scuole. Si tratta di una scelta che riteniamo sbagliata e miope per diversi motivi: innanzitutto si priva la comunità di uno spazio polifunzionale utilizzato ogni giorno da tanti ragazzi del paese e delle frazioni vicine, compromettendo un punto di riferimento per lo sport e la socializzazione. Inoltre, la nuova palestra sarà distante oltre cinquecento metri dall’edificio scolastico, con evidenti problemi di sicurezza negli spostamenti dei bambini, e sorgerà in un’area di grande valore paesaggistico e storico, a ridosso del Tempio di Santo Stefano alla Vittoria, del cimitero e dell’asilo delle suore. Un intervento che rischia di deturpare il contesto e di generare un impatto visivo del tutto fuori scala, come dimostrano le immagini già diffuse sui social. L’opposizione e Fratelli d’Italia hanno chiesto trasparenza su tutte le autorizzazioni rilasciate, perché un progetto di questo tipo non risulta compatibile né con l’assetto urbanistico né con il rispetto dovuto ai luoghi simbolo di Pozzo. Intanto i cittadini si stanno mobilitando con una raccolta firme per chiedere all’amministrazione chiarimenti e ripensamenti, dopo una riunione pubblica in cui tutto sembrava già deciso. Fratelli d’Italia continuerà a sostenere le ragioni dei residenti e a vigilare affinché non venga sacrificato un patrimonio di valore storico e sociale per scelte di comodo e progetti discutibili.
