AREZZO – AL MAGIA DEL BAROCCO AL CHIOSTRO DEL COMUNE – A OPERA SEME FESTIVAL VA IN SCENA “ALCINA” DI HÄNDEL Giovedì 24 e venerdì 25 luglio alle 21 il Chiostro del Comune di Arezzo si trasforma in un teatro per accogliere Alcina, celebre opera di Georg Friedrich Händel, nuova produzione del Festival Opera Seme. Lo spettacolo sarà proposto in due serate consecutive con la stessa regia di Tracelyn Gesteland e la direzione musicale di Djordje Nesic della Manhattan School of Music di New York.
Le due rappresentazioni vedono in scena cast vocali differenti, selezionati tra i cantanti di Opera Seme International Voice Program, il cuore formativo del festival che riunisce ad Arezzo 27 interpreti provenienti da prestigiose università statunitensi e italiane. A eseguire la partitura dal vivo sarà OIDA – Orchestra Instabile di Arezzo. Entrambe le serate avranno inizio alle ore 21 e l’ingresso è gratuito.
Composta nel 1735 per il Covent Garden di Londra, Alcina è un’opera affascinante e ricca di colpi di scena, ispirata all’Orlando Furioso di Ariosto. Racconta la storia dell’omonima maga, creatura potente e sensuale, capace di trasformare in pietra, bestie o piante gli uomini che cadono preda del suo incantesimo. Ma l’arrivo di Bradamante, in cerca del cavaliere Ruggiero, dà inizio a un susseguirsi di rivelazioni, passioni e metamorfosi che culminano con la caduta del regno illusorio di Alcina. La musica di Händel esalta ogni sfumatura emotiva dei personaggi, alternando arie di grande virtuosismo a momenti di intensa introspezione.
Opera Seme propone una lettura scenica contemporanea, che valorizza l’espressività dei giovani interpreti e la suggestione dello spazio architettonico, trasformando il Chiostro del Comune in un paesaggio teatrale sospeso tra realtà e illusione. La scelta di programmare due serate consecutive consente al pubblico di apprezzare le sfumature vocali e interpretative di cast diversi, tutti composti dai giovani cantanti di Opera Seme International Voice Program.
Opera Seme Festival, giunto alla sua terza edizione, è organizzato da Spazio Seme in collaborazione con OIDA – Orchestra Instabile di Arezzo, e coinvolge 27 giovani cantanti provenienti da università americane e italiane, impegnati in una residenza intensiva tra studio, vocal coaching, masterclass e produzioni dal vivo.
