Dopo la première alla XVI edizione della rassegna cinematografica CdCinema nel Cortile di Santa Cecilia a Città di Castello, Conchiglie si prepara a Conchiglie” vola a Barcellona: un nuovo e prestigioso traguardo internazionale. Il cortometraggio, scritto e diretto da Lavinia Lazzaro e Veronica Neulichedl, sarà proiettato il 3 ottobre a Barcellona, all’interno dell’HIFF – Love & Hope International Film Festival, nella sezione Auteur’s Cut (14:00 – 16:00). L’opera concorrerà nella categoria Best Short Drama, accanto a lavori di registi emergenti e affermati provenienti da tutto il mondo. Girato in soli quattro giorni tra la campagna umbra e Città di Castello, il film è stato realizzato senza finanziamenti e con il sostegno di numerose realtà locali, comprese location private, esercizi del territorio e la collaborazione del comune di Città di Castello. Nel cast, oltre a Lavinia Lazzaro, tifernate, come protagonista, spicca anche il nome di Jaele Fo. Un altro elemento distintivo è la presenza di un’opera pittorica originale realizzata dall’artista Fabrizio Pruscini, oltre al contributo del Museo e polo scientifico Malakos con le conchiglie da tutto il mondo. Le registe Lavinia Lazzaro e Veronica Neulichedl si dicono entusiaste per questo nuovo traguardo: “è un onore che il nostro corto venga proiettato a Barcellona, siamo molto emozionate. Speriamo che qualche casa di produzione possa interessarsi alla storia, così da poter fare un lungometraggio”. Conchiglie ha già ottenuto riconoscimenti importanti: nel 2024 ha vinto il premio “Miglior sceneggiatura per cortometraggio al Rome Prisma Film Awards”, festival che si tiene ogni quattro mesi allo storico Cinema Farnese a Campo de’ Fiori, a Roma. La protagonista, Amelia, una donna segnata da un passato tormentato, decide di far nascere e crescere le sue due figlie Sole e Flora nella quiete della campagna umbra, senza che conoscano l’esistenza della società o di altre forme di vita umana. Tutto rimane perfetto, come predeterminato da Amelia, fino a quando le ragazze non incontrano un contadino, il cosiddetto “Gront” – i mostri ricorrenti nella società da cui Amelia le mette in guardia.
