Dalle rovine dell’antichità agli edifici degli anni Duemila, ciò che la cattura e che la induce a rappresentare quel dato luogo è la qualità visiva colta in un contesto luminoso particolare, la struttura geometrica sottostante e il potenziale visuale.Un metodo compositivo e pittorico che si assimila alla scrittura delle partiture, dove ogni frase, per quanto conclusa, si deve legare alla seguente.Prima di tutto lo scheletro, il tema portante: il disegno – spesso dal vero – appunto annotato in acquarello per ricordare la realtà com’è, ma anche per catturare le sensazioni: luci, ombre, toni che trascolorano in altri, accenti visivi e tutta la gamma delle emozioni.Linee ripetute, geometrie e simmetrie evocano un certo ritmo, creando una vera melodia visiva.La mostra ospita anche una selezione dei taccuini d’artista di Gabriella Morbin: non uno svelare il trucco del prestigiatore, ma il diario autonomo di giornate passate a osservare il paesaggio romano incantandosi anche di fronte a dettagli che sfuggono al passante. Perché, come spiega l’autrice, il disegno è il suo strumento elettivo per osservare e conoscere.BIO Gabriella Morbinclasse 1953. Vicentina di nascita, ma romana d’adozione, vive e lavora a Roma. Innamorata del fare artistico fin da bambina, ha avuto una formazione tecnico grafica che le hanno donato il senso dell’equilibrio compositivo, lavorando quindi come disegnatrice per la Tussen di Duisburg (Germania) e poi come insegnante. Arrivata a Roma a 19 anni, si è innamorata di questa città ha deciso di conoscerla attraverso la visione artistica, perfezionandosi nell’acquarello en plein air – che pratica regolarmente – e nella pittura a olio, con docenti del calibro di Pedro Cano e Cornelia Stauffer.Espone fin dal 1992 e conta numerose mostre sia collettive, sia personali in musei e gallerie in tutta Italia.Paesaggio, natura morta, nudo e ritratto sono i suoi temi, ma sempre trasfigurati dall’uso del colore in senso emotivo e onirico.
